China Eats — Local services in London

Most disappointing Chinese takeaway ever. The crispy beef tastes fishy and very metallic - as if it's been cooked in a pan where fish has been, with a utensil that's past it's prime and is transmitting metallic flavour to food. I called to complain and ask for a refund on this dish, and spent 5 mins trying to explain what 'fish' is because they are not fluent in English. They refused to give me a refund. I've had to throw away this dish. What a waste of food.

Egg fried rice was a good sized portion but a bit on the cold side when delivered. Seaweed was alright but a bit fishy for my taste.

I'm so disappointed. Chinese takeaway normally cheers me up so much. This one has just been awful.

They waited 15 seconds before ringing the doorbell for a second time and shouting that there's a delivery. This is impatience to the point of rudeness - I was at the other end...

I sorry, I don't like to leave a negative review in these tough times when everyone is struggling.....but I have no choice here. This was the worst Chinese meal I have ever had (and at 60 years old, I've had a few!). The Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls were flat thin strips of dried up and tasteless chicken dunked in a heavy batter which was raw on the inside. The sweet and sour sauce tasted watered down. The Salt and Pepper ribs were mostly bone and gristle. The little bits of meat on the bone were so over-fried that they were crispy burned charcoal. The Large Spring Roll at £2.40 was 3.5 inches long X 1 inch in diameter. The casing was soggy and wet with grease and the filling had spilled out. The meal was inedible. Ordered delivery, was phoned by the restaurant to say that their delivery driver had rung the doorbell but I hadn't answered and I must have been out. I was home all evening and the doorbell never rang. I was then told the driver would try again, only to be phoned a second time to say the driver couldn't actually find my house. Not only does this prove the driver lied the first time but it's also one of the worst excuses I've ever heard given every other takeaway restaurant in the area has no problem finding this address. The restaurant then told me I'd have to cancel the order. Don't waste your time...
