Xpress Grill, this is my love letter to you. You have served me so well over the last 4 years that the reason I am only leaving a review now begins with a treacherous journey on the eve of December 21st. Dinner time: my flatmate and I decided we wanted some meat for dinner. Some doner meat to be precise. And lo’ I set out the adventure to obtain kebab. Although tonight, it would not be Xpress Grill. Blinded by poisonous sight, I set out to obtain the meat from a NEW kebab place. First, was sus corner. I have always been a bit sus of this place and never ordered from there for absolute no concrete reason other than “it looks a bit sus” (I’m sure their lovey). They simply didn’t have chicken ready yet and that was enough to make my sus senses tingle and I bounced. I thought, I need to try the new kebab place. German doner kebab, infamous in other parts of the country. But in Streatham, they cannot compete with your price, speed of service or quality food. They proposed a 40 minute wait time for food and again, I bounced. Lastly, I thought; in for a penny, in for a pound. I’ll try Orient Express and go further up the longest high road in Europe. They seemed shocked to have my custom. The experience was epitomised by having to go to another restaurant if I wanted to pay by card. With their food in my hand, I headed back down the longest high road in Europe, home. With my tail between my legs. Trying to avoid gaze into your place of business on my way back incase we locked eyes and you caught my shame. The walk back gave me time to reflect. On our last 4 years together. How you’ve always been 10/10 on food, service, price and reliability. Oh and experience, I’ve met some mad people in that place at 1am. So In conclusion, this is my love letter to you. Ordered from Just Eat Driver was friendly. . but The food was cold, the pizza was like a pizza you used to get in school (like cardboard) there was a hair in my salad, the drink cans weren't cold, the garlic bread was soggy, I asked for no mayo on the burger, I paid for peri peri flavour on the chips it never came on them or on the side. notes section :(NO MAYO ON BURGER AND ADD PERI PERI TO CHIPS) they didn't even take note. Phoned the take away with the complaint and the guy on the phone said his driver will come pick it and replace it, I said no, we just wanted a refund, he replied "well I need my food back init!

Reported the hair in the food to food safety.gov as this is disgusting and should be an automatic refund, I am also going to email local health inspectors and try get this place checked out for levels of hygiene. Absolustly poor customer service by the take away not the driver and the food...

Yesterday 04/04/2019 I purchased an order for collection at Xpress Grill in Streatham. I am absolutely distraught from what I experienced as I came to find a dead cockroach at the bottom of my meal. I have never experienced this at Xpress Grill as I have eaten there a few times before but that will definitely be the last time. I am currently experiencing food poisoning as I am struggling to eat any other food. Upon showing the Xpress Grill manager this fatal problem he said this has never happened before and deeply apologised, however I could have easily eaten the cockroach and suffered further than I am now.
