I have been here too many times to remember and each time they have tried to poison me by serving me poached eggs incorrectly poached as the white snotty runny substance in the egg that can give salmonella poisoning ! I have asked them every single time and explained every single time that no poached egg should have the white runny like water as you can get salmonella poisoning from it yet they just cannot poach an egg! A poached egg should not be this tricky to make I have even seen them repeatedly making the same steak over and over and getting different staff to try and poach the eggs but they all fail miserably and they should be ashamed of trying to serve such a thing to another human, I shall never ever ever go back there ever again I don’t believe in funding businesses that clearly cannot even Poach an egg. I should also add that they were also extremely rude when confronted...

Cafe Barcelona in Streatham, just a short 3-minute stroll from Streatham train station and near Brixton, is a delightful find. Renowned for their exquisite handmade custard tarts, this cafe offers a charming and cozy atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot for breakfast or a casual bite.

The breakfast menu is varied and delicious. I sampled the poached eggs and scrambled eggs with chorizo and bacon, both of which were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. For those with dietary preferences, the cafe also provides a range of vegan options, ensuring there's something for everyone.

Overall, Cafe Barcelona is a gem in Streatham, combining excellent food with a warm and inviting ambiance. Whether you're in the mood for a quick coffee, a sweet treat, or a hearty breakfast, this cafe is definitely worth a visit.

horrible service

Edit:

I went to the cafe with some friends last Wednesday morning and the attendant was extremely rude to us when paying at the cashier. For some reason, it wasn't noted that I consumed two coffees, only one, and I said I should pay for one more. She was extremely rude saying she only had one, I felt bad to be honest because that's how she made me feel. She asked why I wanted to pay two coffee if I only had one written down. When another friend went to pay, the same thing happened, she hadn't written down a product she consumed and the attendant was very rude. When the third friend went to pay, she said that she consumed a smashed avocado and the attendant said: “mashed avocado? what is that?”, mocking our accent. I've been to the cafe a few times before but I'll never go back and I don't recommend...

Great cafe in Streatham, Portuguese and Spanish vibes, live music too! Love the cappuccino and cortado, the “Pastel de Nata” is amazing For the sweet stuff: The orange and almond cake is not to be missed too, proper homemade greatness. It’s close to the train station so ideal to grab a takeaway but also to stay in with a trendy interior and unique tables and chairs. The coffee is really good here but the food is great too. As for savoury treats, I have tired the cheese and tomato croissant and the toasties as well as the fries. All really nice and delicious. I have been a customer for many years and will be for many to come. 100% recommended!!

Cafe Barcelona is a popular local music, coffee and lunch venue a few minutes from Streatham overground. The pricing is very reasonable and the food has improved a great deal, they now serve a very decent light lunch or brunch menu. The staff here are always friendly and the owner is a gifted local musician, singing traditional Portuguese (Fado) music. The area benefits hugely from their hardwork and investment. I suggest you check it out. Just one suggestion for the owners, perhaps you could add some specialty or single estate coffee to the menu? The Churros con Chocolate here are a family favourite.
