First visit to the New King's Head Theatre. It's entry is separate from the pub of the same name. Play. Wiesthenthall about the post war Nazi hunter. A timely play and reminder of the horrors of ordinary people just following orders Staff helpful and friendly. Card payments only.
Second visit (this is not a) Happy Room. An excellent play by Rosie Day, humour, sadness, joy, revelation, everything on the eve of a wedding that turns into a memorial service. And a rememberable music track. Excellent cast. Hopefully transfer to West End.
Third visit. Invasive Species a self portrait of experience in an American adolescent and children mental health ward. Reminiscent of the film Girl Interrupted, invasive species is performed and written by Maia Novi. An excellent play.
Fourth, Fanny (stop sniggering) is a humourous, musical play about Fanny Cecile Mendelssohn. The older sister of Felix. Arguably the more talented composer. The cast is excellent with the wonderful Charlie Russell. I saw an early Sunday afternoon preview. An excellent play where Ms Russell and the cast bring the audience into the sublime beauty of...
Read moreAn unforgettable experience! Just recently during my trip to London I went to see with some family a musical which was my very first time ever. We chose to see “Stalled” and all I have to say is what an amazing performance from both the actors and those not on the stage! The musical was about the relationships between daughters and their mothers. It was both comedic and touching at the same time and being a Gen Z person, this show’s diverse themes like LGBTQ, people of different cultural backgrounds, teen problems and the jokes in general were actually really relevant and so it was even funnier and more enjoyable because of it. Seeing the live actors from up close was very nice and as I’ve mentioned already, their performance and ability to both sing, change emotions and act all at the same time was simply incredible! For my 1st musical (which wasn’t expensive at all) it’s an experience which I will definitely not forget and overall I left the theatre being very satisfied with what I saw and experienced and I would do it...
Read moreWent to see THE legendary Coco Peru and I will go back there in a heartbeat for Coco, but O wow this was the most uncomfortable theatre experience ever. Seats are so so so close together, calling this playing sardine is too kindly put. I am not hugely broad shouldered but people either side of me was. I had to sit 30 degree diagnolly (one should to front and the other pulled to back) for the entire show and I nearly had my back pulled as a result. I really don't think this is acceptable, nor safe arrangement. So much so I am VERY hesitant to go and see Richard Windsor show. Just thinking about that sitting position make...
