Impressed with the wide variety of options available on the menu, Mem & Laz has truly captured some key Mediterranean dishes.🥗
This is my second visit and I must say the Char-grilled lamb kofte filled with cheese and creamy mash as a side dish was delicious 😋 it also came with salad. This dish is currently listed as a special for about 3 weeks now (according to the waiter).
I would rate the food from both visits as 'GOOD' and the customer service & atmosphere as 'EXCELLENT', especially if you have a party here, they are very supportive and welcoming👌
However, I feel like the dishes aren't presented well on the plate and you don't get much which creates an illusion that you aren't getting value for your money. 🙁 For example, in the picture I had 4 of those koftes and a large cooking spoon of mash for under £15.🤷♀️
I went with a friend who lives in the area and she has been many times expressing that the restaurant's more favourable dishes are the grills 🍗 compared to others such as pasta etc.
In my opinion a restaurant that has so many dishes can't be good at everything so it would make sense (probably more than 30 dishes when you include specials, lunch, main etc - I am not sure, but it's not as simple to view compared to online, its overwhelmingly alot) 👉 BUT I guess they try to cater for everyone...
Read moreI am a professional Horticulturalist, Arboriculturalist with qualifications in Environmental Conservation and forestry. Islington "gardeners" do NOT hold any horticulture qualifications at all and therefore haven't learnt to correctly use the equipment they are provided. When you see a gardener hacking at anything in sight including trees with a hedge trimmer it's blatantly obvious they were never taught anything by anyone. The branches they use the hedge trimmers on are way too thick and it doesn't cut them it just chews them up damaging the plants and leaving them open to disease etc. The RHS level 1 award takes around 6 months to complete, its the most basic qualification and it teaches you correct pruning, hedge trimming, planting etc. Health and safety is also an important part of your level 1 qualification so if you haven't done the level 1 you also haven't learned correct health and safety procedures. It's completely unacceptable that Islington employs unqualified tradesmen, what are they doing with all the council taxes they get? Islington gives more parking tickets in a year than the entirety of Northern Ireland, they have money but what are they spending it on? Ideological programs to try and spread their Neo-Marxist b.s around...

A sculpted stone wreath, commemorating the fallen, dominates the centre of the Green.
At the tip of the Green, at the fork of the two roads, stands a statue of Sir Hugh Myddleton who, during Shakespeare’s time, brought fresh water to old London town via the New River.
A public toilet with disabled access is situated at the other end of the Green, near the entrance from Essex Road.
Islington’s Memorial Green is surrounded by supermarkets, banks, bookshops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, pubs and pub theatres - while Camden Passage is just across the way behind Essex Road.
In Upper Street, on one of the houses overlooking the Green, a blue plaque celebrates the popular actress and singer of the 1930s, Gracie Fields, who lived there for a time.
Going down Upper Street towards the Angel, the Business Design Centre is nearby, with Chappel Market just a few minutes walk further on - behind Upper Street and opposite the Angel tube station.
The area is well placed for access to public transport to the City, to museums and galleries, to mainline railway stations and to all other...
