AVOID BOOKING PARTY HERE!
We booked a well-anticipated birthday party at Jump In Burgess Hill for our daughterâs birthday at 10am on Sunday 7th Jan, and felt the need to email regarding the hugely disappointing and poor experience we have had.
With the party being just under ÂŁ300, we were expecting to have a well-organised, fun and special experience. One of the perks as a parent of having your party elsewhere and paying a bit more is the luxury of having someone organise the experience for you. Unfortunately from the off it was all a complete shambles. There was absolutely no organisation on our arrival and we were left in the foyer with all our party gear AND guests whilst all your staff avoided eye contact with us - it genuinely seemed like no one knew what on earth they were supposed to be doing. We were told a party host would come to get us but no one did and we stood there ignored until my husband went to find a manager. We asked a âparty hostâ if we could put our cake and balloons in the room, and she had no idea which room we were in (we then since found out the manager had not even allocated the rooms ahead of the party in advance.)
After the safety briefing (which was actually broken for ten mins as had not been set up properly) we finally were taken to a party table which was small and with 4 chairs. Four chairs for a huge party with about 24 adults! They would not let us enter a party room as they had not allocated them. The staff on the front desk were so slow checking people in that for a 10am party, our guests didnât make it through to the actual inflatable until 10:30, despite arriving early AND completing waivers in advance. They were all really flustered and stressed on arrival which was embarrassing for us.
There was loads of food missing and we were only delivered sandwiches and crisps. We had to go and physically find a staff member to ask them to bring the rest of the food out. At 12pm when we left, the next party were waiting at the door of our room to come in but the room was still a mess and not cleared with not a party host in sight. Goodness knows what time they actually got in!
For a party that was just short of ÂŁ300, we felt it was a completely unacceptable experience. There seemed to be no one in charge, and lots of staff who had no idea what they were doing. Not ONE member of staff proactively spoke to us, said hello, greeted us or gave us any info at all. We are so disappointed and despite our daughter loving jump in, would never recommend the party...
Read moreI really wish I had looked at party reviews. Just back from my daughter's party at Burgess Hill. I don't think I've ever experienced such a shambolic event, and I've been doing parties for nearly 3 decades.
We were left hanging around and not acknowledged for a fair amount of time. We were then shown to a ridiculously small area to wait, whilst the kids played. Not once did a mber of staff check in and I had to go multiple times to find someone. To ask if the kids could have drinks as they were baking hot- surely this should have been obvious. To ask if they could have cups to drink from and was then questioned as to why they need cups (well unless they all drink out of the jugs...) No refills were offered. To see if they had the correct details. To then give them everyone's names. To find everyone to get them to go back to reception to do the waivers that the staff did not check were done.
Once eventually shown the party room, it was far too small for everyone but the staff had vanished. Cold hotdogs and cold chips turned up, but no one to complain to. A small platter which had 4 cupcakes to share, between all the kids, as well as a few biscuits, but nowhere near enough foe each child to choose one of each which they all found unfair. Slimes fruit and the minimum of salad (a few cucumber sticks and nothing else).
Had to hunt down staff, yet again, to get a knife to cut the cake and after to find someone to give it back to as no one seemed to care if we left it in the room. Again no refills of drinks.
Not one single time did the party host (I *think her name was Ellie) come and check on us.
Each time I went to reception the staff ignored me and were busy either playing with each others hair or rolling their eyes at other customers. Extremely rude. No one attended to us at all and when we left, we had to walk through a door where 6 members of staff (ah, there you were) were busy smoking and swearing.
Utterly disgusted and disappointed at paying the best part of ÂŁ300 for this awful experience.
I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone for a party. Experience, staff and service...
Read moreCome on guys get organised.
On arrival meet by a very pleasant member of staff who checked our booking and then asked me to fill out the weaver, all fine. After that there was no direction as to where to go next which resulted in asking a member staff who was walking by. He directed us to the briefing area, chaos nobody sitting watching the video which was on a loop only one member of staff by the door who was doing hand stamps. I felt that they should have built up the numbers of coloured bands in a group and then took them in to the briefing room, sat them down watched the video and then moved them on to the equipment making it more manageable. Staff where helpful and polite.
We had to ask for our wristbands which turned out to be the wrong colour which resulted in having to find another member of staff to get them changed.
Once we entered the main area it was very busy and if I am honest I felt it was to busy and you could see staff where struggling to manage the amount of children, that was even with parents pitching in. I felt that the staff needed to be posted at the entry to each of areas i.e. obstacle course and ballpit. That way they could manage how many children in and out making it not only less chaotic but more manageable.
The larger inflatable area was much better but felt that this was due to the amount of space although going up and down slides could be managed better because as times children where climbing over each other.
The facilities where great toilets clean and although I didn't go upstairs to the cafe area from what I could see looked good, same for the party room.
Dispite the chaos my kids had a great time and where worn out which is just what was needed. The above comments I hope are useful and staff where incredibly helpful when asked but organisation...
