Cafe Makara — Restaurant in Mid Sussex

This place is a diamond hiding in the high street. Stumbled in here for breakfast yesterday as they were the earliest place that opens for breakfast 7am which really helped us out.

Paid about 12-13 pound a head for a massive breakfast and a cup of coffee. Drinks are not included with the meal which is a bit of a shame but the quality of the coffee is barista level rich dark americano which is welcome that any time of the day if you ask me.

The breakfast was divine, bacon cooked how you want, most is done on a grill and not just deep fried. The owner makes you feel welcome always has time for you and nothing ever seems too much trouble.

Food was so good and we are without a kitchen we ordered delivery for dinner, the burgers are better then the dedicated places in the local area I don't wish to shame them by naming them. I had a wrap and my mother a jacket potato and everything was just spot on! No grease great taste and full of flavour they even provide cutlery and napkins including a wet wipe which helped the old man clean himself up after his burger lol.

Also kids welcome with high chairs provided. With great chilled background music that's easy on the ears any time of the day.

Great prices, great people and even greater food worth heading to for any...

Second time I've ever bought from here, it will be the last. There are so many other better places to eat nearby for the same or less money. I highly recommend SmoQue Burger instead if you can walk 10 minutes down the road.

I have no objection paying in excess of £10 for a spicy chicken burger, small chips and iced coffee, but I would then want the quality to match. If I paid £5 for what I got I would have still felt it was a bit steep.

The patty in the spicy chicken burger was a VERY thin, cheap, processed, cook from frozen, breaded patty that had less meat in it than a chicken nugget, it came no where remotely near the edge of the bun, so the first 3 or 4 bites were just bread. There was enough chilli sauce to cover the tiny patty but no more, no salad, nothing else in the bun at all. I would have felt ripped off paying £1 for the chicken burger.

The chips were ok, tasted alright thanks to the salt, but not the freshest. The iced coffee was nice so giving 2 stars instead of 1, still overall very disappointed. I only wish I had taken a photo of it to add 1000...

Walking in a new restaurant is always a new surprise because most of the time you won't be happy going back to the place where you were not being treated well and food was not value for the money you paid!!!!!!! Decided to have dinner and map location suggested this place First and the most important food We ordered mix grill and it was a generous portion which was justifying the value of money Fresh and delicious good portion which is rare to find most of the time . But we appreciated their service too Service is something is really difficult to find most of the time its all about fast food ( pick up your meal get your cutlery and eat and your food throw your trash and leave )

They're genuinely offering good service and making sure you're enjoying your meal . Can't wait to go...
