Visited this evening with my partner. At first everything was okay, staff were friendly and gave us recommendations. We had a chicken chat purée and butterfly prawns to start (which was mediocre)
Our mains then came out within 2 minutes of finishing our staters. I had a chicken balti and my partner had a lamb curry, chicken was chewy and lamb was completely overcooked. Wouldn’t be surprised if one of us ends up with food poisoning (main reason we didn’t continue eating) whilst all this was happening we still remained calm and friendly with them, even though they could see we had hardly touched our meals they didn’t offer anything in return or a check back on us (ask for feedback)
When we got the bill we then asked for the mains to be taken off as they weren’t enjoyable at all which was very clear to them, the owner then approached our table with an angry manner saying he had tried the lamb from our dish and it was fine (in my eyes absolutely disgusting that he would try food from a customers plate). Continued getting angry with us and shouting at us. Terrible customer service.
After we paid we sat and finished our drinks where I was made to feel so uncomfortable by the waiting staff by them standing infront of me staring at me.
I eat out at a lot of lovely restaurants and certainly know my Indian cuisine well but definitely will not be returning to this awful place and would advise others...
Read moreWe visited India Garden last night after going to Memories of India in the Marina and having to leave because the service was so terrible. When we arrived at India Garden it was just after 10pm however we were welcomed in and a table was made up for us promptly. The staff were so friendly as usual and made us feel relaxed after our ordeal at the previous restaurant. The food was outstanding and the value for money was second to none. I will definitely be visiting again and am more than happy to travel from Horsham to do so as it it such a fantastic experience. I especially love the classic Indian restaurant décor which takes me back to my childhood memories of going out for Indian food. It is a great family run restaurant with excellent business...

Food is great quality. Manager and Waiters all to keen to help with any menu queries and happy to make 'customised' dishes.
Have to say I'm glad I booked - it was extremely busy - moreso surprising for a relatively 'cosy' restaurant tucked away in the backstreets of Burgess Hill, even on a Saturday night.
Atmosphere lovely, excited chatter, not too loud. Brisk takeaway business as well!
Thanks for making our evening...
