We had waited since March to rearrange a night out that the venue had cancelled last minute. Our visit was not the lovely night out we had hoped for. Despite being at the restaurant early our food order was one of the last to be taken. The starters were fine, but the main courses were far from it. The beef stew and dumplings was mainly swede and had little or no beef content. The tiny half-dumpling was more like a rock cake and it was obvious that the small portion had been in the ramekin for many hours as it wouldn't pour onto the plate. Two of my companions had ordered pasta which initially came out cold. The garlic bread it was served with was stale. When they sent it back they were brought a plate of pasta and sun-dried tomatoes absolutely swimming in oil. It made them feel ill. Despite assurances that they would receive a phone call as the manager had gone home, this hasn't happened. I can't believe we paid £27 a head for that. Love to go here and normally really good value for money but the service was very disorganised.

Don't get me wrong the food was good for the sit down meal.

I ordered a drink as waiting for colleagues and it took 15 minutes to come. I asked how to pay and the staff member said I was just told to bring it. I checked again and not charged so I suppose a small win.

We ordered starters but asked for them not to come out until al our group had arrived and it was brought out straight away. They then brought out 2 mains and the rest of us had to wait. They had finished theirs by the time ours came out. The main was lovely, chunky chips slightly hard. We then had to ask for the dessert rather than being asked.

The lady asking for vets was right on it every race but the race was delayed due to the rain.

Very poor experience. Booked a table of 9 online. Nowhere does it say you can’t book a table that size. No note on booking you maybe split up. Called the venue to discuss my booking of 9 , no mention of it then either. Wanted to clarify disabled access for someone who doesn’t walk far, was told there’s a lift by the door. No mention that it’s 200 meters to the door, then they put us at the far end of the restaurant so a marathon for him. Then we were split up on 2 tables, 1 table can’t see the track and had to watch the tv, which we could have done at home. Struggle to get bets on as not enough staff. Wrote to course, no answer, sent again, Alex called me back. Basically blamed me as I should have made it super clear I wanted 1 table, and that there was no notes on their system. Thought it was strange I wanted 1 table for 9, because if there was a booking of 32 they wouldn’t expect to be in 1 table!!!! Won’t...
