Really good company, however:
Ordered breakfast and coffee this morning for all my staff, total order nearly £70.00.
Went into the Daleside Road branch only to be shouted at by the manager that: YOUR ORDER IS NOT READY WAIT OUTSIDE!!!
i did as I was told.
Went in to collect the order and asked for brown and tomato sauce packets, this time to be told that I should have specified that on my order when ordering on the app! I calmly mentioned that I couldn't do that as s I didn't know which of my staff would want condiments! The response took me back a little as I was told that they couldn't just give me these as it will come out of their profit!
Went to Aldi next door and purchased these.
Came out and realised that I was one drink short (ordered 8 only received 7). Went in again and was immediately faced with aggression from the manager who said and I quote "I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN AMERICANO"! Again, I calmly explained that I actually ordered 2 Americano's. She then checked my order and proceeded to make the second coffee!
So there you go, what should have been a pleasant experience turned into a very bad experience all down to one person and their attitude.
After this experience I think I'll be looking for another...

Food there has been some lack of aparently distribution problems ( which should not be a customer problem) measures should be in place for when these happen so that continuity of food is available, also food has gone way too expensive so value for money is not great ...when prices are large at least make the sandwiches larger as well as cakes etc so value for money is attained. Service i normally have hot chocolates but is so inconsistent sometimes far too weak others far too strong and sometimes is just right, not sure how this happens as i know from working in the industry portioning should be in place for that reason "consistency" however it is obviously not adhered to, same goes for syrups in drinks sometimes can't hardly taste it other times far too much. Atmosphere, not regular cleaning of tables is happening and as such sometimes hard to seat having to move empty trays from one table to another as tables filled with empties that have not been removed by staff, decor looks old and tired just overall i find this store lacking. Read moreThe staff are really nice and helpful. My friend has a disability and uses this cafe regularly. It is impossible for him to open the door either going in or out. There is a push-button for wheelchair users but in eight months, it has never worked. I've pointed this out to the staff on many occasions and they agree but seem powerless to do anything about it. They have advised me in good faith how to complain. I've tried emailing my complaint to Costa but it bounced back. I filled out the online form and got an email back from India telling me to email the UK. My theory is that it is impossible to communicate with Costa as an organisation. They are therefore unaccountable. So, here is my question: can anyone tell me with any kind of certainty (please don't waste my time), how to raise my concerns about disability access...
