Savaloyz — Local services in Nottingham

Today 23rd Aug 2024 myself along with my elderly father decided we would nip into this "Chip shop" as we have seen these "So called" reviews on here Google reviews. First we asked about your opening times? To which the one member of staff replied quote "We only open Friday and Saturday lunchtimes 12 till 2.30.. umm it states on here Mon-Saturdays Lunch & Dinner times? Me and my dad decided we would try a medium Cod, Small chips and peas each. The lady replied saying we only have Haddock in, so we decided that will be ok. The fish came out of the warmer and the chips out of the holding tray. She seemed confused about which fish was which even though there were only 3 pieces in there but she quickly wrapped us up charged us and sent us on our way. Upon arriving home noticed my fish was bigger then my Dads upon checking my bank it turns out she charged me an extra £4 for a larger fish, I never asked for a large fish so I was a bit annoyed by this. Now comes the food, absolutely disgusting!! Foul soggy greesy fish with added heartburn, and the chips was stale!!

This must be the best chippy in clifton if not nottingham, we're from Manchester but my mum in local to this chip shop. The portion sizes are out of this word compared to the competitors close by. The fish is to die for and the savaloy and battered sausage are fantastic, the chips themselves are beautifully cooked in a none greasy oil and they are nice and thick still. The perfect chip in my eye. The kebabs looked amazing with generous portion sizes again and the smell was simply out of this world. Omg the best service I've had in a long time, went above and beyond to cater for my needs as I am gluten free, and omg was the best chicken kebab and chips I've ever had!! And I've had a few from different places but this one by far is the best!! the prices where nice too 😉 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, every time I'm up this way I will definitely be going here again.
