I attended here today with my 6 year old child and was absolutely appalled with the conditions of the place, the place was utter filth. The entire carpet was covered in food, drink bottles, tissues and various other bits of filth. Considering there are children walking around with no shoes on as well as the place serving food you would think the staff there would ensure that the place was kept reasonably clean and tidy. If the area which is open to the public is that filthy then I dread to think what state the areas are in which the general public do not get to see (i.e the kitchen!). Due to how dirty the place was I think eating here would be the equivalent to eating out of a dustbin!. When we arrived we sat at a table which still had rubbish and dirty cutlery on it from previous people who had sat there. We were there for approximately 2 hours and the rubbish remained on our table for that entire duration, with no staff members bothering to clear it (Whilst we were there I didn't see any staff clearing ANY tables which also had rubbish left on them). Despite the obvious dirty environment and it not being very busy, the staff insisted on either standing around doing nothing or disappearing out the back, instead of keeping the place in order. There was also quite alot of play equipment which for some reason had been removed, including the swings, the trampolines for the older children and a part of the play tower had nothing in it. The karts were also not up and running, why charge people full price if half the things are missing?!. I have visited here several times before and not had these issues, not sure whether new people have taken it over or not (if they have then their clearly people with NO standards or pride whatsoever!!). Clearly I will NEVER be bringing my child back...
Read moreFREEZING COLD, boring and unsafe. We visited here today (January) in the 6 degree weather and it felt just as cold inside as it was outside. The play mats were absolutely impossible to stand on in socks for long periods of time without actual pain in my feet from the sheet cold! My 9 month olds hands, feet, legs and nose were ice cold to the touch (despite wearing a thick jumper and her outdoor hat) and we couldn’t even manage to stay more than 1 and a half hours in the building- even with frequent breaks to wrap up in our coats and blankets and have a warm drink! Staff were lovely and polite, but admitted there was nothing they could do about the heating even though they were freezing themselves. The provision itself hasn’t been maintained over the years, with the majority of their play equipment and mats showing their age with rips and fading. Over the years many of the play equipment has been removed such as the swings and trampolines. I presume due to needing maintenance and not wanting to spend the money. The carpet is equally disgusting. In the under 3 section, we were met with a climbing frame too large for my child to access, a slide, 3 tired looking soft play blocks and a ball from a ball pit. The mats were uneven and had gaps between them making the surface uneven to navigate and unsafe for my crawling baby who’s hands kept slipping between the gaps, which then met with cries as she had hurt her hands/wrist. The worst of it all is that we paid just under £5 for the privilege. We will be going to other soft plays which are better maintained such as Yarnton and Millets in future- they cost less (almost by half!) and...
Read moreI have only been here twice but I have been very pleased with both visits. There are loads of different areas for the kids to play in, there is a good amount of variety in terms of what you can do apparetus-wise, and owing to the sheer size of the place the kids have a huge area to explore. The staff are always pleasant too, and they have a good presence within the place in case you need them for anything. The food and drink on site is nice, albeit a little expensive.
A few points that I think could be better:
The above points won't stop me visiting, and overall i really rate this place. I will...
