Located in Oxford's Ozone Leisure Park, Oxy Oriental is an all-you-can-eat buffet that offers a broad spread of Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, and Indian dishes. It's a popular spot for casual dining, especially for those craving variety under one roof.
The restaurant boasts a generous selection of dishes—from dumplings, teriyaki chicken, and sushi to crispy duck and sweet treats—catering to both adventurous eaters and those after more familiar flavours. In the evenings, the live teppanyaki station and sushi bar add a touch of theatre and freshness to the experience. However, food quality can be hit-or-miss. While many enjoy the range and fast turnover (especially at busier times), others have commented that some items feel overly greasy, bland, or of lower quality.
The atmosphere is functional rather than fancy—often likened to a canteen or warehouse setting, with dim lighting and basic furnishings.
Where Oxy Oriental shines is in its value for money. With lunch priced under £7 and dinner (offering more variety) around £15, it’s an appealing choice for families, groups, or anyone looking for a hearty, budget-friendly meal. That said, whether it’s “worth it” depends on how much you value quantity over quality.
Verdict: If you’re after a no-frills, buffet-style Asian meal with plenty of choice and aren’t too fussed about fine dining, Oxy Oriental hits the mark. Just temper your expectations when it comes to quality...
Read moreHave been going here since it opened! The last few years have been disappointing, not what it used to be. Unfortunately it hasn't improved. I will say that my husband liked his choice of meat dishes. I'm vegetarian and the food options have constantly been the same. Food is nice, but they now do less. They no longer do sushi, toffee apple/banana, less variety of desserts (seem to have added budget biscuits to up the volume). I can understand removing the chocolate fountain as was never the most hygienic when saw what was being dropped in it. I always enjoy having seaweed, but tonight it tasted of old oil, so I left it. The chocolate cornflake cakes were bendy and stale. The pancakes fell apart as they were dry. The vegetable dishes were ok, just a shame they are the same as always - they aren't anything special, especially when it comes to flavour. We noticed it wasn't busy, especially being a Friday night. My husband visited last weekend and there were less people. I remember having to wait in a long queue to get in. It's such a shame as this was one of our regular places to visit. 2 stars given on behalf of my...
