Glenridding Sailing Centre — Local services in Patterdale

I booked a 3 hour sailing taster for my Husband's birthday and joined him for this. The staff have been great (Linhe) in responding to my inquiries and helping me make the right choice with the type of sailing session and timing etc. Pete, the owner was very warm and welcoming when we arrived and our instructor, Christine was amazing. Not only a great instructor with such a great deal of experience behind her but also a champion for women sailors. I had intended to not do too much myself as the gift was for my husband but she got us both completely involved from the very start and I had the first go at being "helmswoman". It was great to have access to such a great teacher for 3 hours. My husband enjoyed the hands on experience so much. I am very grateful and would highly recommend the Centre. I had a 3h sailing taster session on a traditional boat, with no whatsoever sailing experience before. It was a truly 5-star experience from start to end. Communication was not only super straight forward and easy, I could also postpone my booking due to a painful ear infection. Owner Pete and Instructor Christine have been great to explain everything starting with security briefing, providing the right waterproof clothes and safety gear and a super pleasant experience on the water. I could have not imagined before to learn so much in such short time, felt really comfortable on the boat under Christine´s supervision and guidance. Myself and a friend turned up as a last minute detour whilst in the lakes over the weekend as we wanted to do abit of sailing. From the moment we arrived at the club we were met with a smile, Pete introduced himself then got to work helping us get on the water. The sail boat was all rigged up for us and we had a great time out on the lake. I came back after a hour whilst my friend took out another boat and I was made to feel welcome sat outside the cabin and told to help my self to free tea and coffee.
