1-Star Review
On the 17th day of April in the year 2025, at precisely 12:30 in the afternoon, I was obliged, in the ordinary execution of my professional duties as a delivery operative, to attend the premises located at 166 Garstang Road. What transpired therein was nothing short of a lamentable demonstration of discourtesy, incompetence, and an egregious deficit in the most elementary standards of civilised human interaction.
I was accosted—there is no more suitable term—by a female individual of evidently advanced middle age, whose bearing and conduct were bereft of even the most perfunctory semblance of professionalism. With neither salutation nor acknowledgment of my presence as a representative of a working trade, she barked the grammatically offensive and thoroughly uncouth phrase: “What you after?”—a vulgarism so lacking in syntactic coherence and social grace that it would scarcely be acceptable in the most informal of settings, let alone a commercial enterprise purporting to serve the public.
It is a grave indictment of the establishment's standards that such an individual is entrusted with any position involving public engagement. Her tone was abrupt, her manner antagonistic, and her overall demeanour more befitting that of a gatekeeper at a derelict outpost than a staff member at a retail premises ostensibly operating under the banner of a reputable national chain.
Such conduct constitutes not merely a breach of professional etiquette but a fundamental affront to the dignity of those who engage with the business in good faith. The lack of training, oversight, and basic linguistic competence on display is not only injurious to the daily operation of the store but corrosive to the integrity of the Co-op brand itself.
One might reasonably expect, in a civil society, that individuals entrusted with public-facing roles possess a modicum of interpersonal aptitude. That expectation was obliterated within moments of my arrival. It is my firm contention that immediate disciplinary review and remedial instruction are not only advisable but imperative, lest the premises continue to function as a locus of rudeness, inefficiency, and...
Read moreReally good experience until this evening, after I picked my four year old up from nursery we went to this shop for some essentials, last time we went my daughter needed a wee, one of the managers let me use their staff toilet as they have no customer ones, this evening the manager would not let her use their toilet, I explained via a staff member on the earpiece to her that she was desperate, the staff member passed on the message she would not come out as she is on her break, I requested she come out so I could speak to her hoping that if she seen how much she needed to go she may allow it, she claimed company policy which clearly was not the case as previous, I then joked and said well you best get your rubber gloves on and cleaning products to which she responded in back chat I was not exactly in no rush.... We needed our shopping so ... As I went to pay she served me, I didn't make a fuss as I was not going to start arguing over the counter with my children there and when I paid I again joked she was lucky this time but next time she may not be so lucky and may have to clean up another child's puddle, she then remarked again, funny how you was quiet at the till, I told her I wasn't going to avoid her when I have nothing to be ashamed of... Total lack of empathy and was quite happy to watch a young child cry because she was desperate...
