This isn't really for Moor Park but for the event we went to on Saturday 6th September hosted by BBC Radio 2. The even was really very good and the day and acks were flawless. Plenty of food trucks and things to do, seemed and felt bigger that the event at Leicester last year. My only fault na' issue is that when it was all over and where Leicester opened up all the exits for the thousands of people to leave, Preston forced everyone back out through the main entrance. Then directing people out and around fencing through and even smaller gateway creating a bottle neck. In my opinion VERY poor management of the vast existing crowd. Other than that a very good evening. Thank you BBC Radio 2 and the BBC.

Great place to go, many attractions from skate park, football fields, playing areas for youngest to nearby pond. And there is cafe shop with public toilets. Decent car park, maybe not concrete and tarmac but it does the job. On the other side of the road there is Preston North End stadium with huge car park which is free of charge during normal days. About 10min from park there is supermarket and petrol station. If you want you can take side path and enjoy trees and pond. There is tennis court across the road. Everyone will find something interesting to see and do.

This is a small but lovely park just a short walk from the City Centre. On a beautiful Sunday morning the park looked glorious, even though the trees are still to bud and the grass is looking a little fed up. The daffodils are slowly coming through at the end of February and within a week the park will be filled with glowing yellow flowers. If you look you will find the Crocus in flower. A park suited for all ages, with plenty of benches to rest on and watch the world go by, or the crazy joggers. 😉 Visit this park and enjoy a couple of hours in the sunshine ☀️

Moor Park lies to the north of Preston city centre. Opposite the park on Deepdale Road is the Preston North End F.C.'s Deepdale stadium.

Moor Park is Preston's largest and oldest park. The park was originally a farm and was run by George Dartford from a famous house called the Barn. In her book People's Parks. Conway claims that Moor Park was the first municipal park to be created in the newly emerging industrial towns of Britain.

Preston Moor was an area of land to the north on Preston. It was originally common land derived from the Royal Forest of Fulwood by the Charter of Henry III in 1235.

Moor Park Main field in the 1830s it was felt by the town's council that Preston Moor was in a 'neglected and unprofitable condition'. In 1833 The Preston Chronicle published an article on 'The Intended Inclosure and Improvement of Preston Moor'. It showed a map of the intended enclosure. The plan was drawn up by the Town Steward, the appropriately named Philip Park.

In the mid-1860s the park was landscaped to a design by the landscape architect Edward Milner and was part of a scheme to provide work for those unemployed because of the Lancashire cotton famine. Edward Milner was a former student and assistant of Joseph Paxton, the noted Victorian architect and park designer. The work was supervised by George Rowbotham, who allegedly became the town's first Parks' Superintendent.

The Serpentine Lake In 1927 an observatory, named the Jeremiah Horrocks Observatory, was built on the park to replace a building in Fulwood. The first curator was G. J. Gibbs, F.R.G.S. The observatory is now run by the University of Central Lancashire, although light pollution and vibration from traffic on Blackpool Road means that it is no longer used for scientific research.

Garstang Road houses several commercial properties On the Park's far west side facing Garstang Road, a number of central businesses overlook Moor Park. This area of Preston is highly desirable and fashionable. Most of the office buildings are Victorian architecture with open space and large car parks. Some businesses include PHC Law Ltd, Deepdale Vicarage, Lancashire Probabtion Service, Taxbak and St John Ambulance.

Moor Park Avenue along the Park's southern side is also a highly desirable location, the buildings are designed with beautiful Victorian and Baroque architecture. Apart from it being residential it is host to many commercial and public businesses including healthcare centres, accountants, dental practices, children's day care centres, hotels, and Moor Park High School and Sixth Form.

In August 2013, Moor Park was designated a Grade II* listed park.

It is host to several events throughout the year, especially during the Spring and Summer seasons. Some examples include 'S2S In The Park', and an outdoor...

Moor Park is very lovely, whatever your prefered weather is. Vast open fields, accompanied with trees that overhang, offering scenic and pleasant atmosphere.Moor park is ideal for picknicks, where I would reccomend taking refuge under one of the trees, offering shade and comfort. Not only does Moor park offer this, there is also the oppertunity to play football here if you desire, having goal posts. If photography is more your strong suit, Moor park is great for thesr at every angle, with hidden features adding character to the park(such as the old broken bridge and the accompanying stream beside the park) Although this park is amazing, the reason for the 4 stars is there is no attraction towards it in the darker times of the days. To get a 5 star,it would be lovely to have lights which illuminate the calm surroundings adding a magical element to it. I love the night so adding this would make it a 5 star. The park is raw,but it is its rawness which adds to the attraction

All in all,I would reccomend Moor Park no matter what your age is, or what ever the weather is(I love the rain!) If you are passing through It is a relaxing place to visit.

Moor Park is a beautiful oasis that offers something for everyone. The lush greenery and well-maintained landscapes make it a perfect spot for a relaxing walk or a family picnic. There are plenty of trails for walking, jogging, and biking, with scenic views that provide a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The park is also well-equipped with playgrounds for kids, making it a great destination for families. The sports facilities, including tennis courts and football fields, are top-notch and well-kept. Additionally, the presence of restrooms and ample parking adds to the convenience.

What truly sets Moor Park apart is its serene atmosphere and the variety of flora and fauna you can observe. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a fitness buff, or just looking for a peaceful place to unwind, Moor Park is the ideal spot. Highly...
