ABSOLUTELY APPALLED BY THIS TAKEAWAY! It was my first time ordering from here as per a work colleagues recommendation but NEVER AGAIN! I had ordered at 20:00 which the call itself took just under 5 minutes to place the order as i had kept being asked to wait either for their staff to speak to someone else or had to wait for him to write my order out so i gave it benefit of the doubt and decided to continue waiting until my order was fully confirmed. I was told at the beginning of the call for delivery in Caversham minimum order is £20.00 to which i assured him it will be over £30! Anyhow called at 20:30 i was told the driver has left i had called to add an extra item but after realising its to late decided the order will be with me shortly! at 21:18 i had called to get an update as to where the driver is i was told in a VERY ABRUPT way that they had tried calling me 12 times then changed to 20 times and the driver has been waiting for 30 mins!!! So I asked what number have they been calling as I have not had a single call come to me he started reading out a number 0747…. Which is not number and please note I had insisted that I give my number when ordering I was told that my contact number has been automatically recorded on their system and I hadn’t have to provide it to them. Anyhow after being told the driver will pop over again and he will be with me shortly I decided to give it 10 mins atleast! 21:30 no hope of the driver by now 4 hungry peoples frustration also kicking in I decided to cancel the order so at 21:30 as the food would have been ridiculously cold to eat! I had called Turkish Mangal and requested to cancel the order without having the chance to explain why the phone was slammed down. That’s them in loss of £31.60 and food wasted or to be honest in my opinion the driver had not even bothered to come as if he HAD been waiting clearly on the door it states to call Security so if they had my number down WRONG they had a number written on the door to contact Security to open the door! NEVER AGAIN and AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Go to a takeaway that really promises their delivery time or even if they were running late to BE HONEST! Poor!! We have been ordering from here almost at least every month over 6 years and the quality of food has been getting worse as time has gone on. A few times we have been missing items, but this time has been the worst! Combination kebab with next to no salad even after requesting extra through the options at ordering and there was only 4 pieces of chicken shish, 3 pieces of lamb and no chicken donner which costed £17. Regardless of the amount a person would eat this was all given to a bulky (muscle) guy who relays on big portions of food and couldn’t even be given a normal size portion or have all the items required. We called up spoke to someone who said he would personally deliver the missing items if we lived 3 miles away, we gave our post code and he said we are too far, I looked it up on the maps and we are 2.3 miles away but he refused to bring it to us and the conversation abruptly ended by him putting the phone down on us. I am deeply upset how this was handled and what we were given, after using this kebab house for many years and staying committed customers, we were treated like this. Ordered food and the driver claimed to have delivered the food even though he didn’t, unless he delivered to the wrong address. Called the next day to ask about it and the manager’s attitude was disgusting. He was verbally abusive and even resorted to calling my sister and I “bitches”. He threatened us and as a young female I felt very intimidated by him. The manager was more concerned about being defensive rather than actually attempting to resolve the issue since the matter was so simple. If I could give this man 0 stars I would. It’s such a shame because the other staff members were really lovely and professional. I actually feel bad for them that they have such a nasty man as a manager.
