I'm visiting Reading from the North and this little gem popped up near my accommodation. So glad I managed to go before closing time and am very tempted to visit again tomorrow for a sandwich! I got the special which is their take on a famous ginger and garlic chicken rice. It's delicious and served piping hot. Chicken was succulent and juicy. Flavoursome, but not too salty. I could eat 2! Very clear allergens listed which is helpful as someone who's new to allergies. Lots of non-dairy food and milk alternatives. Especially happy to see non-dairy sweet treats! The three ladies working today were very friendly, helpful, and patient! Food and drink came very quickly too :)

Going into Fidget and Bob you're greeted by the lovely staff, the menu prices seem very reasonable with quite a lot of choices. I went for my usual Frank n Furter with extra onions along with some tea and coffee. The sandwich was made fresh and tasted fantastic, the portions are very generous and very filling. We also bought some sheep's cheese (which was made in Berkshire) that had a creamy and slightly fruity taste which I'd totally recommend grabbing if you stop by. The staff were all very friendly, and always seem happy to be around, which just makes the experience that much better. I look forward to coming back again very soon.

This is a friendly clean place to get a drink or a bite to eat, I had the bacon and egg o’ muffin which also come with two hash browns, very nice but a few points , the fried egg is cooked in a round ramekin, which makes it. Larger than the muffin , what really spoiled it for me was the cheap square orange cheese slices that were on it , it reminds me of the terrible stuff you get at Mac Donald’s, nasty, but it was hot and fresh , there were two young ladies sitting out side and they had toasted sandwiches which looked very nice

Fidget and Bob is amazing.

While I'm normally there to collect lunch - their sandwiches, wraps, and toasties are top tier -their breakfast and coffee selection is also incredible, and will satisfy the biggest foodies (something which the staff and owners clearly are). Everything is always fresh, the portions are generous, and even the simplest sandwich is somehow out of this world (HIGHLY recommend The Matty). Worth noting that all their food is made fresh to order, and people have clocked how amazing this place is - so don't consider this a Subway equivalent, and either pre-order on their website, or ensure you're able to enjoy a leisurely meal (and enjoy a cold drink).

All that out of the way - Fidget and Bob is one of those places that manages to be more than just a lovely spot to eat. They're also a core Reading independent and community hub - they source products, bakes (including preordered donuts during the weekend) and drinks from local independent vendors, stock locally made trinkets, and get involved in community charity drives. I also understand that they have the occasional takeover (with other Reading foodies), and evening events.

All of this would be nothing without the lovely people who run this place, and even at their busiest, the staff and owners are professional, patient, and just all-around stars.

5/5 stars. Fidget and Bob is one of Reading's foodie jewels and one of my favourite spots. Don't miss a...

Fidget & Bob has been my go-to spot for years. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm glow of the atmosphere and the friendly smiles of the staff. The service is nothing short of stellar. The staff remembers your usual order (a huge plus for regulars like me!), but they're also happy to make recommendations or answer any questions you have about the menu.

Now, onto the food. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe it. Whether you're craving a flaky croissant and a perfectly brewed cortado, a hearty sandwich piled high with fresh ingredients, or a slice of their decadent cake, Fidget & Bob delivers every single time. The quality of the food is consistently high, and you can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the love for food shines through in every bite.

But what truly sets Fidget & Bob apart is the genuine warmth and helpfulness of the staff. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a...

Beware if you have allergies! After finding this place on Google maps, as it was close to some training I was doing, I was looking forward to having a fresh sandwich from Fidget & Bob. My colleague and I walked over on our lunch break and I saw the signs that said 'Let us know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements'. As a nut allergy sufferer I was pleased to see this! I ordered my food and told them about my allergy....they were hesitant, asked if it was serious and basically told me they wouldn't serve me as they couldn't guarantee my food would be nut free. All I wanted was a halloumi salad sandwich!

I felt embarassed, frustrated and as there were no alternatives locally, my colleague and I had to drive somewhere else just to find something to eat.

I question the cafes hygiene practices and will never...
