Golden Hill Takeaway — Local services in Rotherham

Spent £50.80 on my family treat last Friday night , wish I hadn’t bothered , the prawn toast was more of a thick white sliced loaf with the minimal prawn on top , deep fried so much the bread was brown , and very hard . The spare ribs in BBQ sauce again so deep fried no soft meat was left , they were dry and unpalatable . The plain noodles were good, the chicken in satay sauce never had a whiff of a peanut and the sauce was so runny not thick satay ? Chicken with cashews again every few cashews , only the salt n pepper chicken and the 1/2 duck were good along with the boiled rice . I sent the ribs back only for the owner to bite into one and say "no problem" .. there is a problem you are double frying yesterday starters , you didn’t need to be a top chef to work that one out . Won’t bother again ,, will try other places , suck...

Moved to the area a few months ago and we’ve been disappointed not to find a worthy replacement for the excellent Chinese takeaway near our old home. We decided to try Golden Hill after receiving their menu through our door. Really glad we did! We have now found our go-to Chinese. Lovely meal from them last night. It was tasty without being too salty. The spicy dishes were just right. The sauces were a good consistency and not gloopy. There was plenty of meat (or prawns) in each dish. Nothing was greasy or oily. The meal was delivered promptly, nice and hot and the price was reasonable. Only issue is they don’t take card, but I’m sure we can work round that. So pleased to have found a great local Chinese takeaway....

Ordered from here and was told food would be 30 minutes. An hour later no food had turned up so we rang em and got told food has just left. 30 minutes later still no food so rang again. 5 minutes later the food arrived and the delivery driver told us its normal procedure and he is getting fed up with it. Its not his fault but he would take some stick from costumers. Not too much to say about the food. Unfortunately there was more bad than good. Certainly not the standard of our regular which unfortunately was closed. Wont be ordering...
