The Gallows — Restaurant in Rotherham

Today was my second attempt to visit the Gallows. From the outside it looks good, and the cafe section off the car park seemed interesting.

On the previous trip, the pub and cafe were locked up during opening hours, with no message or warning outside. I decided to try again. This time the door to the cafe (the accessible door) was locked but the pub was open.

I use a small light-weight travel scooter, and could not get it up the steps. I asked the landlord about the cafe, was informed that he kept the cafe door locked and that the 'cafe' was in the bar side. I then asked for help, only to be told that he didn't allow scooters in the pub and that I should leave it outside.

There were only 3 customers in, and plenty of room between the tables.

I will be warning my disabled friends not to bother...

Visited from out of town after looking on website for menu had lots of choice and stated homecooked food so thought give it a try told when we arrived only had pie and chips or burger and chips when questioned about website menu was told it was old menu and nobody knows how to take it down it was 7.30 so no time to go elsewhere partner ordered pie and chips I ordered cheeseburger and chips it came out cold not homecooked food frozen chips cheap nasty meat pattie no salad accomplishments couldn't eat it took it back asked for bowl of hot chips instead as hadn't eaten all day needed something was charged for both ! Would not...

Oiii oiiii ….. wicked burger with chips all that was needed was a desert(now I bet you know who it is) … came from london to Sheffield for work … stopped for food . Brilliant service all the females are amazing .. didn’t see any men behind the bar. They also have parking and a seating area outside. I can’t fault this place nice local and you can tell there’s a community spirit inside here . Also I must say this to the community in there … next time I come in PLEASE DONT STARE …. Come and talk to me like the CHEF did . We don’t bite , we’re alright 🫣😁. Look forward to coming back to the gallows… top spot for a cheeky pint...
