I have a nice NAD Master Series processor that required warranty service for a bad analog board. After reading reviews on Google I was admittedly hesitant about using these guys but they were the only place around that were authorized to do the repair. First of all, when I dropped off the component, they listened to me, took down some detailed notes about the problem I was having and were up front that it would take 2 weeks to diagnose due to the backlog of equipment. Okay, I get it. They are busy, and so am I. 2 weeks isn't that bad. They said they would call back and I knew if I didn't hear from them that I should call. It only takes a minute to pick up the phone and they DO answer it. I picked it up after 2 weeks and they reported back they had indeed diagnosed the equipment and it needed a new Analog board. They had ordered it and it was en route as we spoke. I gave it another week and called them back and they reported the board had arrived and they'd be installing it and re-testing everything immediately afterward. The next day they called and let me know it was ready for pick up. I got it home and it works like new!
Now, this is the modern business world. And sometimes we have to call, as customers, to get updates. It is the way it is. These guys do a ton of business. I had the pleasure of meeting owner in the parking lot on the way out and he couldn't have been nicer. In fact, everyone had a pleasant and helpful attitude. They answered the phone and gave out whatever information I was asking for. I don't know what else people expect here. I can imagine a lot of people bring in 1985 Sony receivers that just need tossed into the garbage can and expect InnerSound to rapidly fix them, as if the parts were even available. Most of the crappy reviews seem to be centered around people stuck in the middle ages expecting this vintage gear to just get fixed quickly and that isn't going to happen anywhere. These guys know their stuff, are just all around good guys, and care about the customer. What they can't do is the impossible and some of us need to temper our expectations, take a chill pill and step into the 21st century when it comes to...
Read moreSadly I won't be returning to Inner Sound. It was a complete shambles from beginning to end. I dropped off my Denon DJ MC6000MK2 mixer on 11/1/2022. It was fully functional except for some moderate humming/feedback whenever I plugged it into my powered speakers. I tried several speakers, same result. I had been using it, but after the busy season ended I thought it was time to get it repaired hopefully to pick it up in Jan/Feb. I paid my $125 diagnostic fee and dropped off my system. Got a call in January telling me it was ready, picked it up took it home plugged it in same result, still feedback, nothing had changed.? Returned it to Inner Sound again. A week later got another call, it's ready. Went in again, this time before I left I asked to plug it into a speaker. We put it on the counter same result..nothing had changed. Still feedback. Not sure why I kept getting called to pick up my equipment.? Maybe check the equipment before calling..? After many phone calls over almost 18 months decided this repair was going nowhere. Apparently they were unable to find the required part. I picked it up on 2/2/2024. Obviously I had to buy a new system over this time and decided I could use my MC6000MK2 mixer as a back up. Got it home plugged it in and it didn't power up ..nothing. Called them spoke to Lloyd. Wasted 5 minutes on the phone and realised I wouldn't be getting any compensation. Thought the least they could do was return my equipment in the condition it was left. I started with a system that worked (not properly) and ended with a piece of garbage and $125 less in my wallet. I won't be...
Read moreWe have used Inner Sound before with success however the last repair of a Mackie mixer failed the test of customer satisfaction and worse yet [as a sound company] and our excitations of what audio equipment repair should be. In short they were to fix a non working channel and PFL system first, then test the whole mixer, clean it all for $100 as a test fee and a total of $375 when completed. After a call the mixer was fixed after I found they had moved from Portland I picked up the mixer in Millwaukie an extra fourth five minute drive. Once I opened the mixer case to look for the parts they replaced I found no parts and the mixer was completely upside down and all the faders were being smashed by the foam. After I asked for the old replaced parts again I was told they could not fix the channel as parts were no longer available and they said they threw away the other parts the replace. They did charge us $175 for all the other work that was supposed to be done and said they took a loss on this repair. But later upon inspection I found the mixer was not cleaned and certainly not tested. They also used a tool to remove all the nuts that hold all the jacks on the mixer and that tool took the paint off around every nut on the back of the mixer making it look crappy. When we actually used the mixer 2 months later we also found channel 7 needed cleaning and the L/R pan knob on channel 22-23 when using it in a sub group configuration did not work at all....
