Akash Indian Takeaway — Local services in Sheffield

Now I understand why my friend kept recommending this takeaway. First of all, I made an order online. Order went through and confirmed. I then received a call from the owner to say that due to my location, they don’t normally order to my area but the system took the order. He informed me that on this occasion he will deliver my food - the owner himself delivered my food. He did not have to accept my order as I requested to pay by cash and he could have simply called to explain it was an error and that they won’t be able to deliver but he did. The owner went above and beyond. The food arrived in a reasonable time and very warm. The food I had (mixed grill mains) was the best mixed grill I’ve had. The food was full of flavour. The nan bread was so nice and fresh. The whole food is fresh. I will definitely be ordering a pick up from here again and look forward to being a regular customer. Honestly the worst Indian takeaway I’ve had in my life. Turned up half an hour late, poppadoms and pickle trays missing from the order. After calling the restaurant to ask where the missing items were, they turned up an hour after the food had been delivered. No apology from either the restaurant or the delivery driver.

The food itself was atrocious, the peshwari naan is literally a pizza base with some sort of spread on it - it even comes in a pizza box...

The lamb Passanda was red and spicy for some reason, the Murgh Massalam looked like chicken soup with no flavour or spice with little or no ‘“spicy lamb” in it.

I can safely say I will not be ordering...

Four of us had a takeaway from Akash last night. WOW best takeaway in more than 3 years since Village Balti packed up. Onion Bhajis were amazing. Chicken Tikka Saag with plenty of flavoursome chicken and lots of spinach and sauce with fantastic pilau rice piping, hot and moist. Akash special curry was brilliant. Mixer Kebab main excellent, too much, even for the gannet that mate is. Came at the time we ordered it for presented in a nice box. Thank you Akash don't let the chef leave please. Keep that up and you've got us at least once a...
