First time visit here and the chips are very moreish! Think they were cooking new potatoes (as chippys used to say) they were probably the best locally I've had for a long time. Certainly better than our last lot from the chip shop by the River Side ;) which were old, cheap potatoes full of black 'eyes'

PROPER CHIP SHOP LIKE THEY USED TO BE, NICE CRISPY BATTER NOT TOO THICK, GOOD SIZED FISH NOT ALL BATTER, GOLDEN CHIPS PROPERLY COOKED, NICE COD ROE AND FISH CAKES, PEAS AND CURRY SAUCE GREAT, THEY EVEN DO GLUTEN FREE BATTER SO PEOPLE WITH STOMACH ILLNESS CAN ENJOY FISH AND CHIPS AGAIN AND I LIKE THAT, PRICES ARE GOOD I CAN'T WAIT FOR SATURDAY DINNERTIME NOW.. Had chips and potato scallops from here and it was like going back in time to when most chip shops produced lovely traditional chips; properly cooked, not pasty and not fat.
