A few of us had some drinks to commemorate the one year passing of my father Fred Baker, ( who lived on Hollins Lane & always went for a meal on Tuesday dinnertimes ), on July 8th, 2021, it was a good afternoon & made better by the lovely, friendly staff. Again on the 31st of July, 2021, the day of his funeral a year before. Me & a friend made our respects known & had a few drinks & a truly decent meal, very good & simple food. I fully recommend this Pub !!!, their are lots of happy memories & indeed had Fred's Wake their on July 8th, 2020 & my Mothers in 2005, 40 Years of good tidings with my father & other's !! Had heard good things about the food here, so after a recent day out walking and before going to watch the ice hockey, we thought we'd give it a try. Unfortunately they'd stopped serving food it was only about 5.30. Gentleman behind the bar was really polite, welcoming and lovely, and the locals suggested a few other places to try. Menu looked ok, nothing outstanding though. Decor dated. It's not somewhere I'd look to try...

1st visit in a long time. The place has been spruced up since my last visit and looked nice & bright. It was sunny so we sat outside with our dogs for drinks on Sat afternoon. Ended up ordering food too, great service. The food was lovely, hot, tasty & decent portions. Had the cheeseburger and fries, also fish and chips with huge, chunky chips. Really...
