The Church of All Saints in Langport stands on a hill near the River Parrett, overlooking the Somerset Levels and the remains of a Benedictine Abbey at Muchelney. The church has 12th century origins but was rebuilt in the late 15th century and new aisles were added in 1499. The church is now designated as a Grade I listed building. The Perpendicular octagonal tower, which is in three stages, dates from around 1455. It has a number of interesting gargoyles, known locally as 'hunky punks'. However, the church's special treasure is its east window, containing the largest collection of 15th century medieval stained glass in Somerset. The saints are shown in gloriously coloured robes with both animated and serene expressions. This is now a redundant church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust and is no longer used for services. The Trust has carried out extensive renovation and is working with the local community to develop new uses for the building.

We went champing for 1 night and had a blast! Can't say thank you enough to the CCT team for making it an extra specail stay for my 7 year old neice (who is scared of the dark!) with a lovely hide and seek bat game...she LOVED it! Tea, coffee, hot chocolate all available along with cups and glasses oh and a kettle! We had an amazing game of hide and seek and had fun waking up in the middle of the night to use the loo....😂👻😅 Big shout out to the spiders for keeping us company also! 🕷

This is a wonderful mediaeval church in the care of 'The Churches Conservation Trust' in a magnificent position with far reaching views of the moors beyond and the river Parrett towards Muchelney. It contains some beautiful stain glass windows and a fantastic looking organ. It has a misleading optical view inside down the Isle from the tower towards the chancel making it look a lot longer inside than it does from the outside which draws you in. For small change a booklet on the history of the church can be bought which is well worth it, full of useful facts, and doubles as a keep sake from the visit. Parking is either in the road nearby, or in the town car park; with a stiff walk up hill for the visit, which in my view, is strongly...
