August 2025 Update:
Visited the beach again today. In terms of the beach not a lot has changed. Still a lovely large and sandy beach ideal for paddling, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking or simply making sandcastles. Toilets nearby and a range of cafes and restaurants right on the beach as re also handy.
The car park, just up the road from the beach, charges £2 for an hour, £4 for 2 hours or £6 for 3 and over. There are other fees for overnight, motorhomes and motorbikes are free. However the kiosk appeared to offer a price of £5 for the day which seemed to contradict the machine price. It's probably best talking to the kiosk to ensure you get the best price for your requirements.

Lovely large sandy beach with a good sized car park, public toilets and a couple of fab cafes on the front. Plenty to keep the whole family entertained! My girls had a great time in the early evening here when the beach was fairly quiet. I imagine in a hot sunny day this place would be packed from the early hours so best to get here early or wait till the evening.
Didn't see any lifeguards on this beach and people were swimming, body boarding, paddle boarding and sailing all from the shore. The beach is easily large enough for all of these activities to take place at the same time.
The car park has a normal operation charging rate but we noticed that the machines had been covered up and new rates set for tourists this summer. Payment had to be made at the cabin by the entrance. Whilst this may seem annoying, the £2 an hour or £5 for the day isn't...
Read moreThe beach is lovely, and amenities are fabulous. However, I am incredibly disappointed that for some reason, they have decided to put a camera and webcam feed up viewing the whole beach and at close proximity. Not being someone comfortable being in a swimming costume, the last thing I want is this to aired across the Internet as well as other serious ramifications for others. I didn't see any signs saying there was a live webcam feed that surprised me. It was one of the residents who told me. When home, I found it online. It does make me rather uncomfortable. I feel a camera of the sea or the gruda would be nice but not where ANYONE can clearly view who is on the beach. If it is about safety of the boat yard, then focus purely on the boatyard. The website says this may not be happening right now, but that is not the point. I understand that there are cameras everywhere for safety, but these do not stream to the public like this. It does feel like an invasion of privacy without my consent. If the beach was blurred, then that would also be great. People can still see the place without compromising people's safety. One person's opinion but one I felt...
Read moreThe beach has a very quaint feel to it. The harbour wall provides great entertainment for those brave enough to jump or dive off and into the crystal clear waters. The local shops are really well stocked and the obligatory Ice cream is excellent. There is the local pub that offers the local ale at £3.70 ish a pint and is very welcoming.. The beach itself is quite small so arriving early will ensure a good spot. The cliffs the the left of the beach offers welcome shade during the hottest parts of the day as the sun is in full view all day long. Parking is a short walk up from the beach and at £5 for the day is fairly reasonable. Public toilets are also available approximately 2 minutes walk from the...
