Railway Gardens — Local services in Wales

What a lovely community project. The area has raised beds to allow for gardening to be done without putting a strain on your back.

Helen, the lead on gardening informed us that they mix edibles among the flowers to encourage pollination. She is very knowledgeable about plants and very welcoming to guests and volunteers. She made us feel right at home.

The area has local businesses on site as well and also has tea and coffee making facilities.

It is such a wonderful place to hang out and get involved in gardening.

It was great to see my three daughters leave their phones on the bag and get thier hands dirty transplanting fruit and flowers into the raised beds and making thier own choices as to where to place the plants.

I would definitely recommend spending a Saturday morning between 10:30am to 13:30pm there. Be sure to come wearing a hat and with sunscreen.
