The gym is not cheap, they probably can afford a good maintenance, however many machines have been out of order for many months, like the leg press machine, which has a permanent "out of order" sign, among many others. They "repair" the broken foam of the machines with blue tape, which sometimes falls apart, rather than replacing it, so many machines have this tape in many places. There is space for many more machines, and it would still not look crowded, but it seems like they aren't interested in investing in more equipment. It only gets slightly busier after 5.30pm, which makes the work out enjoyable. Many stations with stuff to wipe down the equipment, although not many people use them. The gym looks quite clean. To be worth the money they should reduce significantly the fee as per the issues already mentioned. I have sent feedback twice about the machines out of order, and one complaint. They responded the first time, 2 months ago, saying they were going to do everything they could to fix them, but clearly that wasn't true. It's a shame, it's really big and in a great location.
Edit: it's been 9 months, the leg press machine is still broken, along with the treadmills that were out of service. They removed the lateral elliptical machine and didn't replace it. Maintenance is so poor for the monthly fee,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with the soft play here. I took my 3 kids, 19months and twins at 8 months and there was no staff member down there or anywhere near there so I had to phone the emergency line just so they could unlock the second door for get my pushchair in. The first door was left open so anybody could walk in!
The soft play itself was disgusting! Dirty nappies left in the bin (not a nappy disposal bin either) that made the place stink of stale poo and wee.
A woman who was there with her 2 kids decided to take over the bottom area of the play equipment to pray whilst my child was playing so I had to remove her from there. Her children was also running around and fighting and nearly landed right on my children who were playing on the floor.
The lift was too small and my pushchair wouldn't fit so I had to struggle to get my chilren down 3 flights of stairs and on the way back up I had to leave my children with my friend to go to the main reception to ask for someone to help me up the stairs with their response being no we cannot lift your pushchair with you, you need to take all your children out of the buggy and carry them up.
I will never return to this place! And I wouldn't ever recommend anybody to go for the soft...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been using the leisure centre almost every week for the last 3 years and it's been fantastic. So far I have played badminton and table tennis but I have observed lots of other activities and I know people who go there for squash, gym, spin class and swimming.
I always find the reception staff very well presented and the staff are courteous and polite. By the entrance there are pods so if you are a member you can just swipe in. A one hour game of badminton is £3,80 which is very reasonable.
The toilets and [male] changing rooms are spacious and clean, and there are always plenty of lockers. I haven't used the showers but I've seen plenty of guys go in and they seem ok.
They used to hire out badminton rackets but I think they stopped doing it for some reason. However, you can buy them from them (I bought two for £20 each).
All the sports areas are also very clean and tidy and everything is very well signposted.
All in all I've had a great experience and would recommend it for anyone wanting to try some sports...
