The good night guarantee is a con. I stayed for three nights, the first night I was given an adjoining room with such bad soundproofing I could hear the adjacent occupant sneezing, coughing and blowing his nose all night. In addition the bathroom had silverfish bugs crawling all over the floor. I reported my complaint via their contact form on their website as there are no phones in the rooms and no details of contact numbers or their good night guarantee in the room. I received an acknowledgment email at the time to confirm I had made contact. I immediately reported the issues to reception also the next morning and they said it would be covered by the good night guarantee upon checkout and moved me to another room for the remaining nights. The new room had patches on the wall, peeling paint on the ceiling and cracked silicone around the toilet. Upon checkout reception again confirmed I could claim under the good night guarantee and gave me a card and wrote the contact number for their head office team on the card. I rang the number within 20 minutes of leaving the hotel. The woman on the phone (Kerry) told me because I had not reported on the night in person at reception I was not eligible for the good night guarantee despite being told by their staff I was. She told me I could not speak to a manager, that my contact via their contact form online did not count as reporting it and she was sorry that the reception staff had incorrectly informed me that I was eligible. She advised my only option now was to take them to small claims court. Do not be fooled by their good night guarantee. It seems the only guarantee is that you will be expected to get up at 2am in your pyjamas and head down four flights to try and locate someone on reception to move rooms that night before being eligible and that you will be lied to by their staff. FYI this hotel has no parking and the parking information on their website is incorrect. The car park they direct you to is £15 for a night, not £1.79 as they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot an pleasant stay. We arrived to check in ā neither of the self-check in machines were working and the reception was unstaffed. So after a while I wandered into the restaurant and ask the man behind the bar. He told me to wait whilst he continued to play barman + waiter, and when heād finally finished in the restaurant he came to check us in. No small talk ā no āHow are youā or āHow was your journeyā etc.
The room was comfortable enough ā especially the bed ā and well equipped. The bath was very narrow making it quite uncomfortable, if not dangerous to stand in whilst trying to take a shower. The windows were filthy dirty (see photo), so much so that even my old camera phone wouldn't auto focus on the view, it'd only settle on the dirt! Unbelievable!
Internet very slow. Annoyingly so. Was fine when we arrived in the evening but awful the following 2 days. They want you to purchase their Wi-Fi package which is āup to 8x fasterā ā goes to show how slow the free Wi-Fi must be.
Good location for Woking town centre and train station, although given the noise from the road I would not want to stay in the rooms on the east side of the building.
Breakfast delicious as usual, although the black pudding was literally swimming in grease and both days the only coffee machine was out of order leaving us with just instant. A staff member also seemed disgruntled at us for asking for sauce (weād searched the restaurant to no avail) so he had to go out the back and brought out 6 bottles ā as if it was our fault somebody forget to put out the sauces in the morning, rather than apologising for us having to wait.
Service and hospitality absolutely below par in this place, will try somewhere else next time Iām...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked two rooms for two nights ā one for my family of four, and the other for my mother and my nephew. When I used the self-check-in machine to collect the keys, I was surprised to find that the hotel had not placed us on the same floor at all ā one room was on the 4th floor and the other on the 8th floor. Forget about having connecting rooms.||When I raised this with a staff, explaining that one room would be occupied by an elderly person and a child, I asked if they could arrange for us to be on the same floor. The staff, who showed little interest, told me that there were no rooms available on either the 4th or 8th floor. But then, rather strangely, she said there were rooms available on the 5th floor ā yet claimed she couldnāt make the change, and told me to come back the next morning at 6:00 a.m. to speak to her manager. Despite my repeated requests, she remained completely unhelpful. Unsurprisingly, no one ever helped us change the room in the end.||When we got to the rooms, we found that there were only two quilts in total between the two rooms. We went down to reception again to speak to the same staff member ā whose āI donāt careā expression suggested that we were just bothering her. Later, we discovered that there were no toiletries in the rooms either. This time, we decided not to disturb her again and simply went to a nearby convenience store to buy what we needed, just to avoid more unpleasantness.||That said, the hotel did have some positive aspects. The location is excellent, right opposite a shopping centre. The rooms were reasonably clean, and the air conditioning system...
