Lately, I have carried new clothing items to this store and have begun to notice unusually tough inspections of my items. Just today, the intake person all but used a magnifying glass to inspect a brand new, very nice top (perfect to wear underneath a blazer).

In her detective work, she also discovered an ever-so tiny piece of fiber in a hard-to-see area of the top. She commenced to explain how someone might pull on the micro-scope thread. This excessive explanation seemed bizarre.

The same person also refused to take a navy blue Vintage Vine dress (never worn, perfect now and/or early spring) because of a faint, small spot (not a stain) in a non-visible area.

Sarcastically, she recommended that I take the dress home, remove the spot, and she MIGHT approve it. In general, I find the in-take people condescending. Those at the cash register are just the opposite, very courteous.

Had I noticed the spot, I would have removed it before adding it to my stack of items.

I do understand and appreciate the need for high standards in what is or is not accepted by store owners, but what I have begun to encounter with the staff seems highly discriminatory.

Whether your items are accepted seems to depend on the person who hopes to sale the items. If they like you (for whatever reason: skin color, appearance, submissive attitude, etc.), they will accept your items. That’s my opinion, of course.

Should this review cause the store owner to terminate my account, I will file a complaint with the NC Attorney General’s Office-Consumer...

The only reason I haven't made this a five-star is because I didn't have enough experience to make it a 5-star yet! But I hope to change this to a five star berry soon :-) my initial experience was very good! Went to talk to the owner about consigning she was very polite very sweet and talk me through the process. Also you get a much higher consigning fee than other places in town for furniture! The place also had amazing deals I will definitely be back to shop too! And we'll probably end up bringing furniture back to consign as well going to try to sell it on my own at first for the full amount and if I can't I'm definitely trying a bit of couture :-) good experience upon...
