Before this last visit, Hobby Lobby would have gotten 3 or 4 stars from me. However, this time, the staff was so ON that I am happy to give the 5. This trip was especially horrific for me because my sweet dog, Hlin, passed away, and I had come from the vet with her ashes on a mission to find something suitable to put her ashes, her ceramic paw print, and the letters we had gotten from family and friends in. Throughout the visit, multiple staff helped me find potential boxes to house my precious cargo. I wish I had paid better attention to names, but two ladies helped me the most. The first was a woman from the sewing department who stood with me as I cried and helped me put my items into various boxes until we found one that held everything just right. I know it was not an easy thing for her to do. I was a heartbroken and crying mess, and she didn't know me to know what to say, but her presence and kind words here and there really helped more than she'll ever know. The second was a sweet girl in the framing department who helped me figure out how to protect all the paper items in the box. She kept me talking...first about the task, then about other things to try and cheer me up, and then a nice circle around back to the papers are now super protected, and the box looks lovely. These ladies and everyone working that night were wonderful and made such a horrible and painful experience...
Read moreMy favorite store for art supplies. As a working artist, I frequent this store...they have large stocks of paints, brushes, canvasses, and...well you get the picture. If you download their app, you can get 40% off any one item not on sale that week. They always have their art frames and photo frames on for 50% off, however they alternate the sales so that the art frames will be on sale one week, and the photo frames the next week...just fyi. On this visit, I was purchasing chicken stuff for my wife's birthday...they had their little ceramic chicks and polyresin stuff for 50% off. She loved them. I am always shopping there for her chickens. We also buy decor for our home here. Another thing we like to purchase is their scrapbook supplies. They have lots of different things for designing and completely building a scrapbook from scratch. Also, I like their supply of model railroading supplies. Have always like doung this as a hobby. Enjoy yourself...go...
Read moreI was told Hobby Lobby was Soo much better than Michael's and I have to disagree! Sure they have such beautiful house decor and a lot it was a little hard not buying it but I contained myself. The huge downside of this place is that they don't have Any Signs at all what is down each isle! The place is so huge I can't be spending an hour freaking lost because I can't find what I need. I went down each dang isle trying to find what I needed and just couldn't. I asked for help and all I got was "It's way back in the back down that way" What the heck... I already went down that way twenty times! Being disabled and not knowing the store that well is a real challenge for me. I can't walk for long periods especially in circles trying to shop. I was so exhausted leaving that place. I rather go to Michael's where everything is labeled and has about everything I need. Never Again...
