Very disappointing experience, please read this review and others with similar rating. We truly wish we had stopped to read some of the reviews before having contacted Angel, at this studio. Initially, we were very excited at having come across AQ considering the choreographies we saw on their FB page. However, we were in for a terrible surprise upon our initial and last appointment with the "professional". While we were under the impression that he would hear us out on our needs for our daughter's quinceañera, it seemed more of him telling us what needed to happen- songs, types of dance, hiring his professional dancers versus working with our daughter's family and friends, taking dance lessons at his studio, and renting tuxedos straight from him. He didn't seem to listen to anything, it was almost like he was in his own fantasy world. We could tell our daughter was starting to feel overwhelmed by him imposing ideas. This was not exactly what we envisioned and while we tried giving him the benefit of the doubt and waited for the very last step to hear on packages, that put us even in the most uncomfortable situation. The packages he offered were way above our budget and we told him we had to go home and talk about it. He then started getting snarky and threatened that he couldn't save the plan he had created on his computer. Little does he knew that all of us were aware, that it was just a lie so we could agree to something on the spot. It's as easy as naming and saving the file, give us some time to think about it and should he not hear back within the allowed time, simply delete the document. Angel also got up and was dismissive as we were explaining why we could not sign on the spot. He was very offended when we refused his $300 discount. This was definitely not going to convince us after his unacceptable attitude. There was no way at this point we'd be morivated to sign a contract with someone like him. During the appointment he was just implicating one, that our daughter didn't know how to dance even after we had told him she had a background in dance, he was also assuming that the chambelanes would not be able to pick up and execute the choreography etc...It seems that he wants an easy experience, and doesn't want to deal with kids who don't have a dance background. He wants to charge the money but refuses to put in the work. Angel wants to sell, sell and sell so be mindful when...
Read moreMy sister's quince was handled poorly. Her rehearsal dates were pushed back consistently they only practiced about 1 month and that was only 2 day a week which is not enough time to learn the dances. The choreographer Alexis continuously kept trying to change the songs as if it was his quince and not my sisters, he kept telling her that those songs were boring or that no one likes those songs... If that's what the quinceañera wants then do it how she wants isn't that the point of a quinceañera? When she asked if they could do a traditional waltz his response was that he didn't know how to do that... aren't they a dance studio? I feel like a traditional waltz is something you could easily do or look up to find out how to do it. The boss of the place kept changing the prices on my mom as well, he doesn't keep to his word and will say whatever you want to hear just to get more money out of you like saying that he's going to add things or lower the prices and when you ask about again because he doesn't do it he starts saying that he never said he was going to do that for you. Alexis and the boys that were rented to dance with my sister on her special also had major attitudes when it came to a simple request. All we did was ask them to leave their suits on for the surprise dance because one of my sisters friends didn't have black jeans to change into. Their response was that they would do whatever they want to do. They were also late to the quinceañera... very professional. Also, the choreographer was the main one dancing with my sisters even though it should've been her chambelan de honor. That's why you have one... so he and her are the center but no Alexis and one of the rented chambelan's were the one's that were always up front. My sister's chambelan de honor only solo'd with her for about 1 min in the waltz and 30 seconds in the surprise dance.
Moral of the story, if you want your daughter to have the quince dances of her dreams with as minimal stress as possible, don't go here. They're very unprofessional and will force themselves to be the center of attention instead of the quinceañera. SAVE...
Read morei am currently in aq dance center and i am one of the beginners. before the dance show weâre going to present, i was doing really good. i would say everyone was doing good and the class hours seemed fair. it used to be 12-2 ONLY sundays. ever since the dance show started to go around, angel expected us to be there SATURDAYS from 2:30-8. i think it is too much time for us to be there just for one dance show. probably more hours than he is willing to teach you more than your quinceñera. he also changed the sunday hours from 12-3. it is too much time, on top of that, he is also switching saturday classes from 2:30-8:30. angel is a very rude person and will insult you if you mess up. he says since we are beginners nobody should make fun of us, but he embarrasses other girls who do a step wrong. although some of his steps are professional, that wonât take away the fact that he is a rude person. he treats us with unfairness as well. the only ones who get treated well are the upperclassman, for example, the officers and the guys. he obviously shows favoritism. we have to pay $150 a month just to be treated like this and learn little dances for a stupid dance show. we are REQUIRED to be there. at this point, i wouldâve already left. sadly, i canât leave since i have to stay there for my quince. last time, i remember that while we were practicing, some guy carried a girl and the girl fell. she started to have a seizure in front of all of us. it was a traumatic thing, yet angel expected US TO BE THERE THE NEXT DAY. iâm having my quince soon, i will review again to talk about how my quince went. i definitely do not want to recommend angel to anyone. worst mistake i have done, he is a very rude person, and mostly cares about the money, :) and the reason i wrote this is because there are new beginners EVERYDAY. and i donât want them to...
