Lowes Foods of Aiken — Local services in Aiken County

Love the products offered, but I have been here quite a few times and the customer service isn’t great. There are always a ton of employees, but it’s difficult to get them to help you. The girl who was attending people at the self checkout barely acknowledged me the first time I asked for help and thanked her for fixing the issue. Then, I tried to ring up some peaches, but the self checkout gave me an error and told me to take them to the cashier. When I asked the same girl about the peaches, she told me I wasn’t supposed to scan the barcode, and that’s why it sent me to her. She said she’d have to ring them up on her register. She pulled me to the side, and I stood there for 15 minutes while I waited for her assistance and she helped others. Then, she walked away and started ringing people up on a different register. There were 2 other employees present who she had told about the situation, and they did not do anything, simply ignored me standing there in the middle of the checkout area. I ended up leaving and not buying them because I was tired of waiting. I understand it gets busy, but speaking as someone who is also a customer service manager, atleast acknowledge your customers and help them to the best of your ability instead of ignoring them, walking away, or starting a different task. The store is fine, it is just another well lit grocery store close to the core of Aiken's consumerism-row. The prices are comparable to other local stores. The CUSTOMER SERVICE at this store is no where on the staff's radar - they are SLOW, they will make you WAIT, and they are RUDE more often than nice. They have NO sense of urgency. They will ALWAYS finish a different task before helping you, no matter how long that task will take. They do not find other workers to help you if they see you waiting. No one acknowledges you that they know you're waiting, so you're never certain if someone will or will not come. After waiting a few minutes today, I realized I could see someone in the back and waved at him to make sure he knew he had customers at the hot food stand. He nastily responded to me, prompting this review. This is NOT the first time I have patiently waited at this store whether it's the hot food items, deli, or sandwich shop. On occasion, the wait times are so long that I skip the purchase. The fact that this guy was ACTIVELY RUDE and then the hot food was NOT up to par to what they've served in the past (the chicken tenders were incredibly dry today). Edited review: I received a call this morning (next day) from a member of guest services and they personally came out to deliver my order. I will give them a tentative 4 star for rectifying the situation. It would have been better if this had been done on the day of, but I understand.

Original review : I've tried ordering from here a few times. Today I placed an order to be delivered between 4-5pm. I was updated twice. The first time to let me know they were running behind. That was fine. The second time to let me know about substitutions. Again, fine. I got a message that shopping was completed. An hour later I check the app and it says out for delivery for an hour. I call and it's not been picked up. Okay. I ask if they can give me an update. They say that they'll text me. I then received a message saying that customer service was closed for the day and they can't help me. I ask to be refunded and they say it will maybe be looked at tomorrow. This is the second order that I've had issues. I'm physically unable to drive to pick up the order, hence the reason I ordered delivery. I was really hoping to like the store, but they are unhelpful.
