Words defy describing the pharmacy at this location.
The pharmacy has a hideous track record with us on filling prescriptions in a timely fashion (or even at all). I can't begin to relate how many times we've either dropped off the prescription and either not gotten any call or follow up to day it's ready until several days to a week later (or not at all). When we have tried to contact them proactively, there is always the response of "it's not in yet" or " I have no idea what happened, we don't have your prescription". We've also had multiple instances of of getting a call from the automated system saying the prescription is ready, but when we get there to pick it up, it's actually not. Nothing makes me angrier than making a trip through traffic for nothing.
My wife is a chemo patient, and was supposed to get some special mouthwash after her first treatment. The doctor sent in the prescription electronically. It took us over an hour to get home, so we stopped by on our way. The pharmacy said they received the order, but they needed the doctor's approval. We called the doctor's office, and they verified the appropriate paperwork and approvals had been transmitted to the store. My wife has tried a few more times to follow up to try to get it, and they've gone with every excuse in the book - from "we have to order it" (even after having it for a few days) to "what prescription?". There was even a suggestion from the staff that my wife could mix her own mouthwash. Really? Mix a mouthwash that you get via prescription? Wow... words fail me.
Not sure what the core cause for this abysmal customer service but, after being exposed to it, I've been tempted to not use Walgreen's ever again. Fortunately, we did have another Walgreen's that has been MUCH better so far, they've been very professional and have filled prescriptions quickly and accurately. They verified our phone number. 2 hours later we went to pick up prescriptions and were told that they did not have one of the medications. WHY NO PHONE CALL TO US TO LET US KNOW THIS? Instead we find out when we drive there to pick up her prescribed medications! This sends a message to us that our 5 year old does NOT matter to them. It's late in the evening, we've spent 5 days in the hospital, our daughter needs her medication and they DID NOT HAVE THE COMMON COURTESY TO CALL US!!!!! WHY DID THEY VERIFY OUR PHONE NUMBER IF THEY WEREN'T GOING TO PICK UP THE PHONE TO LET US KNOW THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE OF THE MEDICATIONS SO THAT WE COULD MAKE TIMELY ARRANGEMENTS TO RETRIEVE THE MED FROM ELSEWHERE? MISSING A PRESCRIBED DOSE OF A MEDICATION COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WELL BEING OF A PATIENT!!!!!!! A SIMPLE PHONE CALL! CMON WALGREENS!!! Words cannot describe how upset I am with this location as a long time customer. The manager of this location doesn't know what customer service is. I cannot believe he was hired as a Customer Service Retail Manager! I think Walgreens has to do a better job picking their employees, and who actually represents your brand. Your supposed to take care of your customers, and responding by saying "I don't have all night to spend with you on this" when i asked for help, is demeaning and disrespectful. I believe you were hired to take care of your customers, and tonight I do not feel like you were doing that.
