The owners Linda and Paula literally "saved the day" for my little one year old's baptism! I had been in the store once before and had purchased a few beautiful items so when my SECOND online order for a baptism dress fell through by sending an email the day before stating my shipment would be arriving late, three days after the baptism, I went into panic mode. I had all my friends and family in town for my little one's first birthday party (on Saturday) and her baptism on Sunday! I realized I had to find a dress after the party on Saturday and before Sunday morning!!!! I dropped by Purple Goose to see if they had anything and Paula and Linda immediately felt my urgency and upset and searched the store for any dress appropriate for the occasion. I did not have my little one with me because she rode back with my husband for nap time, so I had no idea if they might fit. These lovely ladies let me take all the dresses with me, four to be exact, with a sweater, a pair of bloomers etc. and said if one fits great come back next week and pay for it, if none of them fit then just bring them back! Seriously?!? I tried to leave my card but they didn't even ask for my number. These small business owners know what it takes to distinguish themselves from the department stores, online baby stores, even the overpriced, snobby boutiques around the area. Not only did one of the dresses fit perfectly but it was beautiful and my baby looked like a little angel. The ordered dress arrived the following Thursday and it was not nearly as beautiful and detailed as the one from Purple Goose. And it was more expensive!! This charming children's shop carries high quality children's clothing for special occasions and everyday, with the best selection of children's shoes in the city of Alexandria (Hunter, boys leather loafers, Native, See Kai Run, saddle shoes, Keen). It is a classic store but also has new trends. They are one of my go-tos for holiday pjs, classic items like wool or rain coats and well-made, long lasting shoes like rainboots and saddle shoes. Now that my boys are older, it is a good place for sacrament outfits for first communion or cotillion clothes. I love their selection of unique gifts and it is one of my boys' favorites to pick up a Jelly Cat stuffed animal, Melissa and Dog classic wooden toys or cute hairbows and jewelry. At the holidays, they are my go-to for Thymes fir candles and monogrammed items. They monogrammed my boys' heirloom baptism gown with their names and baptism dates through the in-house Del Ray monograms and expanded to Del Ray Balloons. They used to have a terrific consignment corner and their sales are the best, where I stock up on the next size up. Luckily, I stumbled upon this store and was met with the kindness and compassion of Ms. Paula and Linda, the owners.

These two women are some of the most kind-hearted people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They knew exactly what I needed and went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the attention to detail, professionalism, and love that they showed me and my family during a difficult time.
