Mountain View Mausoleum — Local services in Altadena

The Mountain View Mausoleum is a great visit for anyone that is interested in history, art, old mausoleums, and for this place in particular, the Band Ghost.

This Mausoleum is easy enough to find off of the main road and parking was easy and free. They have an outdoor and indoor area for you to tour either by yourself or you can arrange for a guided tour.

The interior of this mausoleum is simply beautiful. The artwork and design of this building are simply a must see. They have classic music playing throughout the halls as you make your way through the corridors.

I am sure that they have some sort of designation as to who is laid to rest where but I did not, or could not make out, what that was.

The main reason for our visit was due to the band Ghost who filmed all of their "Lore" videos at this location. although we came for Ghost, we ended up staying longer for the beauty in the Architecture and simply the history behind the building.

Absolutely stunning building. We were able to visit right before closing on a rainy day while we were on a road trip. We were in awe at the architecture, the paintings, and the beautiful lighting and stained glass. Even our teenagers were fascinated. We almost got lost as we wandered! It’s a good thing we found a sign pointing towards the office. The woman in the front office was very kind. We wish we would have had more time to spend! I had the pleasure of taking professional photography at the Mountain View Mausoleum. I cannot emphasize how beautiful the architecture is, and how respectful the staff were. It's upsetting to see how disrespected it is, and how much people lack empathy to show up in costume to a place where people mourn.
