Avoid at all cost, especially if you have a food allergy. They are unable to make a sandwich without lettuce on it. Even the New Orleans that does not mention lettus comes with it and it cannot be deleted. For a "fresh made" item it is incredibly disappointing that an item cannot be left off to accommodate a food allergy. Waste of time.
Edit in response to owner comment: I fully understand cross contamination concerns especially in an environment used to prepare many different items. None of this was mentioned by either associate I talked it, I was simply told no we cannot do that. If I was given a warning of cross contamination and the option to make my own decision I would have left a happy customer.
A fast paced business is not the place to explain severalty of allergies and diatery restrictions. If a customer makes a reasonable request it is generally beneficial to make a reasonable effort to accommodate it. If Subway and Jersey Mike's can accommodate I would expect a "speciality market" to be able to...
Read moreWe saw someone post on Facebook a picture of a sub sandwich that they got from Alto. They didn't skimp on the meats. So we were in the area running errands and decided to stop and order sub sandwiches. The market opens at 11am, so we stopped at the cafe & bakery next door. We got a few things from there. As we went back to our vehicle, the market parking lot started to fill up. It was 10:50am and more and more people showed up. 11am finally came and the front door was opened. The market had fresh baked bread, olive oil dispensers, fresh and frozen noodles, meatballs, raviolis, etc. We bought a few items and then ordered our subs. They come in two sizes, 6" and 12". I ordered a 12" Venice sub, and the wife ordered a 12" Verona Club. The meats were sliced to order, and as expected, they didn't skimp on the meats! We waited until we got home to eat our subs for lunch. We were not disappointed! We will definitely come back. I highly recommend...
Read moreI have never experienced a hoagie like this as long as I have been a Google reviewer and in my life in general. This hoagie, made by Alto Markets, was the meatiest, thickest and most dense sub I have ever eaten. They call it the “New Orleans” Muffaletta. But as far as I'm concerned this sub could have been called the “Jumping Jupiter” due to the many layers of meat.
And the meat wasn't just any meat or cheap filler meat. But the slices were, in my opinion, the highest quality delicatessen meats available. And these layers, again, gave this sub the gravity, quality and appearance of the heavenly Jovian planetary giant.
Needless to say I am impressed! And at $12.99 I consider the Alto Markets New Orleans Muffaletta a true bargain. This is easily a $25 dollar hoagie elsewhere in...
