Disappointing Experience – Poor Quality and Rude Customer Service
I recently purchased a pair of shorts from this shop, expecting quality beachwear. However, after just one day of use, the fabric noticeably discolored, despite following proper care instructions. Concerned about the unexpected change, I returned to the store hoping for an exchange or at least an acknowledgment of the issue.
Unfortunately, the customer service was beyond disappointing. The staff member assisting me was dismissive, more focused on her phone than addressing my concerns. When I politely expressed my disappointment with the product, she became defensive and unprofessional, going so far as to tell me I had a “bad attitude” simply for expecting quality merchandise. Rather than attempting to understand the issue, she was unyielding and refused to consider any kind of resolution.
A business that sells clothing should stand behind the quality of its products and treat customers with respect. Based on my experience, this shop fails in both areas. If you’re looking for quality products and decent customer service, I strongly suggest shopping elsewhere.
Response to Owner – Addressing Poor Customer Service
Palms 30A,
I appreciate your response, but I am disappointed by the way you have misrepresented the situation. I purchased the swimsuit just one day before and returned because the fabric discolored after minimal wear. This was not a stain but a clear issue with the material itself. Instead of being met with professionalism, your associate was on speakerphone with someone else during our interaction, barely engaging with me as a customer. When I politely expressed my disappointment, she became defensive, dismissive, and even told me I had a “bad attitude” for expecting a quality product. That is not acceptable customer service.
At no point was I rude or inappropriate—I simply expected the store to stand behind the products they sell. If your policy is to direct customers to the manufacturer for defects, that should have been communicated professionally, not with hostility. Instead, I was met with an unwillingness to listen and an employee who was more focused on her phone than resolving the issue.
A small business should take customer concerns seriously and ensure their staff handles situations with professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience...
Read more✨ Palms 30A is hands-down my favorite store on the entire Emerald Coast! ✨ From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the sweetest staff who genuinely make you feel like part of the family. The vibe? Immaculate. The selection? Chef’s kiss.
Whether I’m grabbing my favorite Free People Movement set, stocking up on Thrive must-haves, or picking out the perfect hostess gift, Palms 30A has me covered. They even have beer, wine, beach-day essentials, and luxe little finds you didn’t even know you needed until you saw them.
It’s a total one-stop shop—stylish, fun, and full of gems. I always leave feeling a little happier (and with a much cuter shopping bag). If you’re on 30A and haven’t popped in, you’re seriously missing out! Oh and the Frose is...
Read moreWe were recommended to stop by Palms while looking for sunglasses, so my family and I decided to check it out. From the moment we walked in, we weren’t greeted or acknowledged at all. Right after us, another group came in and the staff was immediately friendly and helpful with them—meanwhile, we were completely ignored.
It honestly felt like a “Pretty Woman” moment. We weren’t dressed in our Sunday best, and it was clear that made a difference in how we were treated.
First impressions matter, and unfortunately this was a bad one. If you’re not dressed to impress, don’t expect any service here. We ended up...
