Finally finished building, a year late.
Nice layout, not so cramped as the Georgia one. The foyer isn't gross [yet] like all the other locations; hope it stays that way. The surrounding neighborhood hopefully won't go to crap like the ones around the other Uniteds.
Bakery department is still mostly bioengineered bread. Make folks think they're getting a premium brioche or jalapeño bread but actually give them cheap crap and charge boutique prices. Why?
The intense LED lighting that is being used, and went into other locations recently as well, is absolutely awful. I could hardly focus my eyes the entire time I was in there coming in from the dark parking lot, and I stopped shopping much sooner than I otherwise would have. All to meet global ESG score criteria. SMH
Wine department was great. Love the endcap of Texas options. Please add a tag to the shelf on your organic wine/beer options.
Starbucks "expresso" (as the girl working there pronounced it) machine was down an hour before closing. Doubt it. Probably just pre-closing and didn't want to have to clean it again.
The younger staff members were screwing around behind deli counter and at checkout.
Since this was built, makes me wonder if HEB will be breaking ground soon.
Great time to go is Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. The crowd is much lighter, and more pleasant then. We skipped the first couple weeks after opening to let the novelty wear off. There's so little to choose from in Amarillo that the opening of a grocery store is the highlight...

The deli section is a standout for me; the sandwiches are always made with quality ingredients and bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoy their BBQ at SMOK’D, which never fails to satisfy my cravings!
