I've been a long time participant at the auctions at captains. I've won majority of the games I own from here and have never had any problems. This time however was down right bad. I went to pickup a machine that I won from the auction. I am unable to physically attend the auctions due to my work. The item I won was marked as not working but there was a post-it note on the machine that stated what was wrong so I knew that could be repaired and placed the bid. When I picked it up and drove home which is about two hours away I discovered that there was no computer parts at all inside the machine. There is no way to repair something that doesn't exists. I know the staff isn't responsible for the note or that the machine was empty. I'm posting this as a caution to other potential buyers. Make sure to go and inspect the items before bidding because the sellers that are placing the machine in auction have fooled me and I don't wish this disappointment or sadness on their kids on anyone. My son is completely heartbroken to have thought we finally could add his favorite game to our game room just to have to see it taken back. I had also bid on another machine and the auctioneer counted down and said sold to my bid but took another bid after from another person causing that person to win instead. Long story short. Go in person and make sure your getting what you want and don't assume you won when the auctioneer says sold...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience from start to finish. I bid online and it was very user-friendly and easy to do. The auction itself went at a good pace, I never once felt rushed. The live recording showing the machines being used helped to fully understand what I was bidding on and the condition of the equipment. Elizabeth was extremely helpful after the auction with payment and processing. At the time of pick-up, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Wyatt was able to help in loading all the machines, and he answered any questions we had. I used a moving truck, and they were able to easily load the truck with all the proper tools/machinery. I would highly recommend Captain's Auction Warehouse to anyone looking to purchase arcade equipment for their business or personal use and at a fraction of the price it would cost elsewhere....
Read moreI'm not sure why people are butt hurt over losing an auction. This is the place to buy equipment. From operators and collectors (I'm both). I've seen several other online auction sites that do not have video, nor do they even attempt to be honest with you. They just tell you that you gotta come in. Well, for plenty of us, that's not possible. I've purchased 7 games and some monitor pcbs from Captain's and everything they have shown in the pictures and video (day of) have been spot on. Remember, you're buying (most likely) used equipment that has been routed for some time. You're not going to be purchasing a game from 1990 that's in "New in box" condition. This is stated before the auction and...
