Where do I start...
First of all, before I decided to take this class, I was asking one of my friend who has been bartending for ten years to teach me to barten, and he said " yeah no problem, it's easy, don't go to bartending school...", but the problem is he has been super busy at work and the time that we met, we just play golf and just have fun, so I decided to started searching the bartending school with out telling him.
Lots of school pop up on my computer screen. few schools got some really good reviews and one of them is Socal Bartending. I checked all the detail on every school that I was interest in and went through all pictures and everything until I started got a feeling about this school, then I sent an email about some questions that I had, and It got reply so quickly, so I decided to take this class.
First day of the class, everything looks exactly like I thought. the class is really small which is great, so you can being so close to the trainer and ask anything you want anytime. You also have your own station with your buddy who will help you through this course with so much fun. You also have a book ( school's own book ) that will cover pretty much anything that you need to know about bartender. My favorite part about the book is it short and just go right to the points ! I'm sure is you go buy a book for bartending, you probably ending up reading like 100 pages or more.
After I finished the course, I feel like this school just make everything about bartending look so easy to me. I just ended up automatically knowing 70+ main drinks without trying so hard to remember it. I also feel much much more confidence about bartending knowledge. The lessons that this school prepare will take you step by step until the end, and you're gonna get the same feeling that I have right now.
Thanks again for...
Read moreI was looking for a highly rated, knowledgeable school where I could learn bartending and mixology skills and laws. The Southern California Bartending School was the perfect place for me to learn with the goal of preparing for a weekend job as a bartender. Marisol and Riahna were excellent instructors - their years of industry experience were a huge asset to me as a newcomer. Laura, the school owner, developed a tremendous course with a thorough, but easy to use book/manual and online videos with lots of tips and tricks. The combination of online classes plus in-person, hands on classes were the perfect mix to learn the material. As someone who works full-time, I appreciated the hybrid (online and in-person mix) and evening hour classes. I needed to get this done quickly so I can start looking for a job so the two- week class was perfect for me. However, this was no walk in the park. The instructors want to make sure you are prepared to be a professional bartender and prepare you to work in a variety off venues. Because of this, there was A LOT of material to learn and the expectations were high. You MUST study if you want to pass! Lots of flash cards and Quizlet helped me at home with memorization and the speed drills were great to improve my knowledge of products, drinks, accuracy, and speed. The school also is well connected within the serving and events community and I appreciate that part of the class teaches you tips on how to get a job/experience in a variety of venues. I look forward to landing a job and continuing to grow in my knowledge. If you are serious about becoming a bartender, this is absolutely the best...
Read moreI’m going to start by saying that before I even signed up for my classes I was in contact with the school just asking some questions and not only were my questions answered in a timely manner but it influenced me even more to sign up because they were so helpful with the process and with any ?/concerns I had. I started my classes with Kristen she was just amazing. From showing us tips on how to get things done easily, fast and safe. She was very hardworking and worked with us to make sure we were comfortable in the learning process, understanding pour counts and what to expect in the industry. Next we had Rhianna, she broke down drinks and garnishes. Really encouraged different ways of learning the drinks from flash cards to showing videos of the actual drinks when layered (b-52). We were also introduced to Ashley! She put us through our speed rounds while also taking the time to pause and help us come up with ways to remember the difference between drinks we struggled with. Not only did she provide us with the tools to help retain information but also encourage breaks in between. This class is a lot of dense information but it also targets different learning styles and when your instructors are this attentive and encouraging you cannot go wrong. Thank you SCBS I appreciate all of you, and all the...
