Some people remember their first kiss. I remember the day my personal faith and love of life was integrated by the Holy Spirit of God entering me and completing my armor so I could complete my chosen or ordered journey. When I was a boy 10 or 12 years old, after doing my paper route. I would sometimes head to Dietzen's Bakery which was then at 2401 Meridian Street. (Across the street) Where I could get hot loaves of freshly baked bread for $.35 cents. Especially on cold winter days it was so good, hot and fresh. Sometimes sitting in the Church yard or on the steps I or we would break it open, reach in and pull the hot fluffy center out. mmmmmmmmmmm Obviously I have thought about this many times for years and remember that I was wise enough and alone enough to be looking for something to expand my optimism of life so I could serve God and man in some outstanding way. So, I decided to attend church one day and my life was not only changed but empowered forever. From the moment I entered everything seemed to change. Besides the fact that the spirit did seem to hover around me, waiting for my ability and decision to make a commitment. I had no problem joining with my creator and committing to serving others with my life. That day I met Jesus, I also met a real live believer and follower of Jesus and experienced the warmth and power of Real Love and brotherhood that results from knowing the meaning and power of Jesus, his words, meanings and the power of service to others. Then wow, after the service. I don't know what I may have said or why. But for some reason a man that was a parishioner offered me a ride home and, on the way, he showed me some fascinating perspectives on life and we spoke as if we were longtime friends and longtime brothers in the work and words of Jesus and caring for all others. Remember I was maybe 12. In hindsight and since my paper route was several blocks away it is possible that I was led to the Nazarene Church by the smell of the bread. ha-ha Now I am 66 now, (really ageless) and my journey is complete. Mostly because on that day I became a part of one of the most spiritually powerful and kind groups of people mankind has ever known. And the resulting faith allowed me to go places few ever do. Although the Bakey is gone, I am delighted to see that you all are doing well. Thank You: First Church of the Nazarene God Bless, Be Peace and Be...

When my brother first told me about his church and how much he loves it and how much they help him through his troubles and hard times I got excited to be a part of that so I walked in the office and told them I was trying to find my way back to God and I needed a miracle that was three years ago and I have been trying to find him and your church helped me figure out why I felt like I was abandoned you see though I can come in on schedule days and take a shower for 15 minutes I asked for help with a place to stay for a night to sleep in a bed and to be warm and you helped my brother with a week in a hotel room but then told me that you don't do that for people that is what I was told then I have a few friends that is staying in a hotel room and that's because you guys have helped them out but I am still homeless and out in the cold but I can't get help with a room for a night or two. I don't know what I need to do but I do know that GOD HE SHOWED NO FAVORITES AND HE TREATED EVERY SINGLE PERSON THE SAME HE SAID THAT YOU NEVER KNOW IF I PRESENT MYSELF TO YOU AS JUST A STRANGER KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR WOULD YOU TURN ME AWAY OR WOULD YOU LET ME IN MY CHILD. WELL I KNOW NO STRANGERS AND I ALWAYS PAY IT FORWARD AND I CAN'T EVEN TURN TO THE HOUSE OF MY GOD AND GET THE SAME TREATMENT AS THAT HOUSE HAS GIVE MY BROTHER OR MY FRIEND. I NEED A SHOWER AND A WARM BED TO SLEEP IN AND A MEAL BUT I CAN'T GET IT. SO WHEN I SAY THAT GOD ABANDONED ME IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE I THINK I AM RIGHT BECAUSE HOW DO YOU HELP SOMEONE ELSE BUT YOU CAN'T OR...

The church I've not personally attended service BUT, the center and people are amazing! Everyone from coffee shop, greeters, pastor, volunteers have been incredibly kind and helpful, not to mention the services to the community with amazing kid play center for free! They also have a clothing closet for kids clothes, which they kindly let me use when my child had an accident... and sooo many other great things going on it seemed around there! Already visited twice in 2 weeks!

My daughter absolutely loves the Anderson first church community center on Jackson . We attend there and the pastor Joe is a wonderful person . There is Luna coffee , delicious food to order and tables to eat with a relaxing atmosphere. There are 3 services. 9:00-10;00,10:20 Bible study and 11:15.multiple Bible study groups on wed and a dinner before. The play zone is free to the public and fun for kids to go play ! Check it out !! You won’t be disappointed!

I finally found a new church home for the family where everyone loves it. The people are amazing and they're doing a lot for the community. I personally love the Bible study best. I feel it's really anointed. It hits home and is deep. you won't feel alone.Took this pic to show what they're building because I thought it was pretty cool.
