I live 25 minutes away from the restaurant. A few days ago, ordered for pickup. Drove to restaurant, picked up food, drove back home. Missing two large sides. Called restaurant. Person who packed the order apologized for the missing sides, and told us to come back in and they would provide the sides plus some chicken to make up for the trouble. Told them we couldn't come back that day, but person said they would make a note and we could come back in anytime in the next couple of weeks.
Today, my wife went in to restaurant with receipt. Employee said she was not providing food, because "it doesn't work that way". My wife asked to speak with the owner and was told "she's not here". Asked when owner would be in, and employee tried to pretend she didn't know, but finally admitted she would likely be there tomorrow (Friday the 7th)
I am placing this review in multiple locations. I will be calling the restaurant when the owner is there and will update this review depending on the response.
And THAT, ma'am, is "how this works".
Here is my answer to the obviously unsatisfactory response from owner: IF that is in fact your policy, YOU are not following it, because it was your employee who did not: Tell us that policy when we called Take our address and mail us a card.
So please tell me: where does the problem lie? With me the customer? Or with you as a business owner who does not take care of the customer when you fail to follow your own policies?

Read moreThis place here has really disappointed me. LEE'S FAMOUS RECIPE hands down was one of the best if not the best chicken establishment around. And here lately every time I leave Indianapolis to visit this place. I notice that the floors and eating booths are never really wiped down or clean. I notice that the so called managers always appear to look unclean or un bathed. I notice when you place an order and they call your name before walking up to pick your food up every one has already been up to the counter talking over it. I notice one of the managers with colors in her hair had the worst attitude someone could ever have. This dirty looking woman strike me as evil and judgemental considering that she looks the way she does. The problem is there are to many men and women working next to one another that is handling our food and has not been seen one time wearing gloves or washing their hands. Dirty colored hair dirty uniform bad attitude shifty eye movement and no concern for cleanliness scares me. What happens is when you see nasty behaviors or even nasty looking employees anyone would assume that the food may have dropped on the floor or even been mishandled in a unclean way so therefore people will choose to leave. Hopefully in the future the managers will be replaced with people who are appearing to be more clean with great customer service and knowledge. LEE'S IS AND CAN STILL BE NUMBER 1# WITH BRAND...
Read moreMy son went to your restaurant today, and for the second time, he was denied service. I have spent thousands of my hard-earned dollars here, and I truly do not understand why my son was refused while his white friend was served.
Not only that my son’s friend’s father even walked in and offered to buy my son’s food, yet the lady at the front still refused to serve him.
I spoke with the manager, Kalya, who explained that last year there were issues with kids from the school across the street causing problems in the restaurant, and that is why they do not want anyone under 18 inside. While I can understand wanting to prevent disruptions, this is not a fair or effective solution especially when many of your customers are under 18.
I sincerely pray that my son was not treated this way because of the color of his skin. However, after my conversation with Kayla, it was difficult to think otherwise. The way this was handled left me with the impression that race played a role in this situation.
I believe Keith, the owner, needs to implement better policies for handling these matters. No child or customer should feel singled out or discriminated against in...
