Camping World El Paso, where dreams of RV living and questionable life decisions come true! I stumbled into this place with the precision of a toddler on a sugar rush, armed with the grand idea of going full-time RVing on a whim. đŹ No plans, no reservationsâjust me, my questionable decisions, and the promise of adventure lurking in the rows of RVs at Camping World. đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸
The front desk welcomed me like a long-lost cousin, and they summoned the legendary Mike, the RV whisperer, to guide me through this journey. Now, Mike was like a burst of sunshine âď¸ in a world of propane tanks â cheerful, friendly, and surprisingly patient with my cluelessness. I spilled the beans about my impulsive decision to live life on wheelsđ and be a nomad, and Mike, with the grace of a seasoned dance partner , led me to his office for a chat.
As we discussed the possibility of trading my ancient Lexus hybrid for a robust truck (more on that later), I realized I was in way over my head. But Mike, the RV Yoda, reassured me and we took a spin in a golf cart for the grand tour. Let me tell you, they had more options than a buffet on cheat day. The store was quieter than a library in winter, and we cruised around checking out new Travel Trailers. Breaking Bad had misled me â these RVs weren't meth labs on wheels; they were cozy homes with wheels!
After exploring a few shiny new models, I asked about used ones, and Mike, without missing a beat, exclaimed, "Of course!" The man had an answer for everything, like a GPS with a sense of humor. We ended up in a slightly lived-in unit, and then he hit me with the news of a fresh arrival, a 2022 East to West Alta. I stepped inside, trying to play it cool while mentally planning my decor. "It's nice, but I'll think about it," I said, trying to keep my poker face intact.
Fast forward to a week of intense research and contemplation. Mike, sensing my wavering commitment, called and threw a curveball, "How 'bout a $500 hold on that dream RV?" Without thinking twice (or once), I blurted out, "Absolutely!" It was like putting a ring on it, but with wheels.
A few days later, I returned, and after some pricing banter, I did what any sane person would do â I pulled the trigger! Signed, sealed, deliveredâboom! Only tiny problem, no truck in sight. "No problem!" said Mike, the man who could probably sell ice to an Eskimo. "We'll hold it till ya get one!" And so began my unintentional truckless odyssey.
The saga of my truckless existence continued for over six weeks, making me question if my truck was out there somewhere playing hide-and-seek. Mike hadn't forgotten about me, though. He called with the patience of a saint, checking in on my nonexistent truck situation, reassuring me that my dream RV was still patiently waiting.
Finally, the day arrived, and I made my way back to Camping World El Paso to pick up my ticket to freedom, the 2022 East to West Alta. In those six weeks, my excitement had reached peak levels, and I was practically doing cartwheels through the parking lot.
What awaited me was not just a trailer but a fully detailed, minor-issue-fixed, home on wheels. About two weeks after sealing the deal, I had the pleasure of a comprehensive orientation. The Camping World staff, walked me through every nook and cranny, making sure I knew my RV better than the back of my hand. We discovered a few minor quirks that needed fixing, but by the time I returned to claim my rolling abode, it was all shipshape and ready to hit the road.
The whole experience was a delightful mix of humor, warmth, and genuine care from the Camping World El Paso team, especially Mike. So, here's a tip of the imaginary hat to them for turning my wild idea into a reality! If you're in need of an RV, a good laugh, or just a friendly face to guide you through the labyrinth of recreational vehicles, head over to Camping World El Paso. It's not just an RV store; it's where dreams of the open road come true, with a side of unexpected adventures and a dash of humor. Cheers to Mike and the crew for making my RV journey...
Read moreI have had a less than stellar experience at this location. This was my first large camper purchase. First off, the experiences I had with the sales staff were mixed. The first time I came Lawrence was my sales person. He did tell me that he was a new salesman and that he was still learning. He took me to the campers that I was interested in, gave me time to look around. I decided not to buy that day, but I put down a deposit to hold the camper I was interested in. I slept on it and came back the next day. I was told that Lawrence was off but was then referred to Trent. Trent took me around the lot, showing/telling me all of the functions and storage locations in the camper that I was interested in. I decided to purchase the camper that day. He then set me in his office and informed me that he was going to get my sales packet. He gave me a bottle of water and returned 15 minutes later with my folder. He said that it was incomplete and we needed to get more information.. I gave him what he asked for and he took it to the finance manager and I was told that it wouldn't take very long to get into the finance office to finalize the purchase. In the meantime he said I could call to get insurance quotes. I called 2 different insurance companies, received 2 different quotes. Each call took about 20 minutes start to finish. I was then told that finance now had another customer but that it wouldn't be that much longer. I then sat in Trents office, listening to the local gossip in the cubicle next to his for another 40 minutes. I informed Trent that I needed to leave to make it back for a maintenance appt. He said it should only take 15 more minutes eand he would get me into finance. I walked around d the store for another 15 minutes. I had been in the store for over 2 hours! When I approached Trent again he walked away from me, so I went to the front desk receptionist and told her to please let Trent know that the deal was off and that I had left. Not 5 minutes later Trent called, I did not answer because I was driving, and quite frankly didn't want to speak to him. I then received phone calls from the store manager and the regional manager. They apologized and talked me into putting my faith in them to get this deal done. The camper was supposed to be delivered March 17th before 2pm. I had called and spoken to Kevin to verify that the camper would be delivered 3/17 before 2, he said that it could be delivered between 11-1130 on the 17th. The 17th comes no camper,, no communication from the dealership, so I call. I am put in touch with Daniel who informs me that there was a miscommunication and that it wouldn't be possible to deliver the camper that day due to complications with the washer/dryer delivery. So then the delivery date was changed to 3/22 and Daniel assured me that it would be ready to go and delivered by noon. This morning I messaged Daniel and he had been told by another department that delivery was 3/23, but said he would speak to his manager and call me back. He was able to bring the camper and set it up 3/22. During the walk through I discovered that I had received a lot of misinformation about the functionality of the camper I was purchasing. The salesman, Trent, stated that my camper was equipped with an auto leveling system, it was not. He then told me that the refrigerator would switch from electric to propane for dry camping, it does not. He also told me that all of the newer 5th wheels come equipped with wifi capabilities, apparently this model did not. I dont think that the sales people are well educated on the campers they sell.    Read moreLeaving this particular review for Justin V. the service advisor that took over from my initial advisor. For background / context, I had a scheduled appointment and dropped off my camper the night before; I was asked to provide a written summary of concerns at the time of drop off (all related to my battery.) with my written concerns, it was discussed that my battery either needs to be charged or replaced and that it would take 2-3 days to verify after a thorough investigation. After 4 days of silence, I called to ask if ready for pick up and was told by another advisor that no one had touched my camper. I called again 8 days post drop off and was told the same by my initial advisor who also offered me to pick up my camper if I chose to do so after I inquired about the reason for them having taken no steps towards looking at my camper battery.
At this rate, I was beyond flustered as a single female on solo travel on tour across America the Beautiful. I had only purchased my camper and the extended warranty 3 months prior at a Camping World in the Houston area and after discussing these battery related concerns with that Houston location, I was advised to come to the nearest Camping World to have my concerns verified and addressed which is why I ended up here at the Anthony Camping World.
Upon arrival to Anthony Camping World, I spoke to the sales/store manager Kevin Z. who demonstrated exceptional customer service. After taking into account my experience thus far, Kevin followed up with the proper channels to confirm information from the Houston area Camping World and promptly and aptly assigned Justin V. to resolve the situation SAME DAY.
Empathizing with me, Justin not only addressed my battery concern but also took care to recommend preventive measures to help maintain the life of my new battery. Justin (service advisor) and the service technician presented 2 different services requiring simple installation. I opted for the cost effective solution per my current financial ability which was installed the following day due to the service team having already left for the day.
Sympathizing with me due to my experience so far at Camping World Anthony and for the delay of my trip, Justin V. offered to provide utility hook up for the evening and advised me on the cold weather and how to prep for the night until they could complete the newly added work the next day.
When compared to his fellows, Justin V. never once talked over me and maintained his professionalism and integrity through and through. Simple miscommunications were owned up to and overall Justin V demonstrated agility and tactfulness in managing client relationships. I also observed the same in his relationship with the service technician, his peers, as well as the store manager who tasked him with the care of my camper.
I am a OEF/OIF veteran and share that to express that I have worked with all types of people across the continents and their respective cultures, as a service provider and as an end user⌠Justin V. has proven himself as a leader that Camping World can stand to nurture now and benefit from directly in the legacy of their brand as it continues to serve the people who do business with them.
I would recommend Justin V. to be part of the training team that leads by example at each respective brand location in relationship / client management.
A heartfelt thank you to Kevin Z. & Justin V. at Camping World Anthony, and the general manager from my initial Camping World...
