Craft City — Local services in Apache Junction

I brought my family here to check out a local craft store. I thought it would be nice to give my money to a local business rather than a Walmart or Amazon, etc., but our experience here was terrible! My husband, son, and I were in the backroom discussing what products we were going to purchase, when the owner came rushing in aggressively screaming at us to leave. We were bewildered as to what was going on, when I realized that he was accusing me of stealing! I showed him that it was my son's cookie that I had slid into my purse. He continued to yell at me saying that he was going to call the cops. He said that something was missing that I was looking at by the counter. I showed him that it was already in his hand along with everything else that he had rudely snatched out of my hands. When I proved that he was wrong, all he said was "well that's that then". No apology for wrongfully accusing me of stealing. No apology for yelling at and harassing my family. My family is tan. I never assume someone is being terrible to me because they are racist, but in this situation, I absolutely believe this was an old white man harassing a tan family because he is...

I give them 4 1/2 stars. The lil guy that's at the counter when I shop there is the sweetest elderly gentleman EVER! He's been there for 40yrs, he said. Haha so cute! They do have a GREAT selection of seed beads! And there's so much more! I only seem to go when I don't have much time to look around. One of these days I'ma head there with $100 and hours to explore! Everything is well organized, by color and size. Makes it easy to look for what you want. So, why 4 1/2 stars, you ask? The only issues I have is that the color of the glass seed beads I needed wasn't there and the lighting isn't directed well on the beading collection. Then if I stand too long in one area, I have to wave my hand in front of the motion detector for the lighting. Very cost efficient but it was a pain to study the vast color selection. Great shop, lots to choose from. It's old school, and the owner is very nice. Zipper art is cool, my mom made me something from there. The bead room is AMAZING. There is a lot of older stock so if you need something very special or hard to find/unique then you may find it here. We went for some ribbon and didn't find what we needed but found some glitter we needed. Definitely will be back to support Bob when we can. Great shop. As for the haters on here, it's an old shop and has some old stock. It's not amazon or walmart but if we all shopped here instead of online then the owners could give it a face-lift but either way I would be extremely surprised to find a craft shop with not only the amount of beads but one even remotely as well organized as craft city is!...
