I’ll start off with everyone is very sweet, the office is always clean, and the decorations are cute. The process they have for calling in to speak to the nurse could definitely be improved (playing “telephone” between the receptionist, to the med assistant, to MAYBE the NP is annoying...) I’m sure with the standard well checks and routine childhood illnesses, they are great. However, the vibe I get is Dr. Jones doesn’t want to be the bearer of bad news (which isn’t what you want in your pedi... I need to be able to trust that you’re not going to sugar coat things or brush off the abnormal)
When I brought up some things I noticed at my daughter’s 2 month appt my concerns were pushed aside and said to be “normal”. They were reluctant to give us a referral to genetics when I brought it up again at her 4 month appt. and even though they did write the referral (after multiple calls to get it sent over) it was written “mom googled __” as the reason for the referral. Doesn’t exactly make you feel heard as a mom. They also refused to give my daughter the second dose of the flu vaccine after her 1st dose at 6 months. I spoke with Dr. Jones and the NP requesting it (standard practice with the CDC) and I was told they received different vaccines that didn’t require the booster dose for the infants. (I’m a pediatric RN and spoke to an infectious disease MD at work and know this not to be the case).
There are more concerns I’ve had that continued to be pushed aside that I won’t get into, but when it comes to the management of something remotely complex/rare we decided we needed to find someone else. I don’t want to have to have my “nurse hat” on when it comes to my child... I want to just be mom. Now I’ll always be her advocate, which is why we left this practice.
If you have read all the way through this... by the way, she was positive for the genetic condition...
Read moreWhen we first started seeing Dr. Jones I had no complaints and was really appreciative of her and the relationship she built with us and our baby boy. I’ve always been vocal about the need for us to build a bond with the person caring for our child. Her office was smaller at the time and as it started to grow we started to notice inconsistencies. However, nothing too big and we decided to continue going here with our 2nd. After a while, we started noticing more issues with them and problems. (ALL T TIME)
I’ve been annoyed for a whileA that we never see Dr. Jones anymore. It’s a different Nurse Practitioner EVERY TIME, there’s no way to build a bond with that happening.
If you’re late 5 minutes you need to reschedule, but you can be left sitting in the waiting room for 20 minutes no problem.
My last straw was we got new insurance after my husband switched jobs, before going with that insurance plan both my husband and I checked with them three different times and got confirmations every time that they accepted the insurance. We literally based our insurance choice on their office for the kids. Both of our kids have been seen on that new insurance plan and they never said a thing about it not working, or them being out of network. Not once. Then when trying to schedule a specialty visit for my daughter, I needed a referral and reached out to them, and all of a sudden they realize that they don’t accept our insurance.
I’m extremely disappointed and upset about all of this.
I’m all for growth, however if your service starts to suffer with growth maybe it’s not the route they...
Read moreIts been a year since we are seeing this pediatric office. Even for first visit, we could not get Dr Jones appointment. For annual visit, it was nurse practicioner. For sick visit it was NP. For flu shot and immunizations it is NP. For name sake, Dr. Jones is the PCP, but we never get her appointment. Its always a 6 month wait period to get an appointment. It is better to tell upfront that only NP get to see the kids before accepting new patients. Also we missed annual immunizations, but we never got a call reminder that we are due on that, that is a basic protocol any pediatric office will take care. There was never a follow up on how kids are doing after they are sick which I have seen in other state pediatric office. My kid had been sick last Oct for three weeks and we have always been seeing urgent cares and emergencies. There was never a follow up to see how my kid later. I have never seen such irresponsible staff in previous experience in other offices/cities. I have always seen so much care in my past pediatric office experiences, when it comes to kids and their well being - that too with respect to very basic immunizations. There is so much hype that this is very convenient to most of nearby populated communities, but it is better to travel few miles extra to get better care. I would not recommend...
