Korean Korner — Local services in Aspen Hill

I wish there was a -5 start or something similar to rate this store because Korean Korner does not even deserve 1 star. I came to the store 10 minutes before they closed at 9:20 pm. I got to the register at 9:32 pm and there was a man very upset right next to the cashier that told me that they are close and that the store closes at 9:30 pm. I said oh ok and placed my staff on top of the encounter for the cashier to check me out. The man continued telling me “The cashier does not have to check you out, it is pass 9:30 pm” . I said “ ok sorry got it”. But no he continued repeating the same thing over and over but this time he raised his voice up. I felt that I was being unfairly treated and I said “Sir ok I got it but you do not have to repeat it because I got it”. He said “I can ask you to leave the store if I want”. I said “ do you want me to leave everything here?”. He said “Don’t caught that attitude with me because I can call the cops”. I asked the cashier who this man was and the cashier told me that he was “THE OWNER”.

I can’t imagine how he talks to his employees or even his family or friends. Clearly he was upset because he has to pay 5 minutes of over time to the cashier.. I understand this man must be tired of being there in the store all day but that does not mean that he can treat his customers like trash!!!

If you live in the Wheaton or Rockville area pleeeeease DO NOT spend your money at this store. This man does not deserve us to spend our money in his store. And if you work at this store please do not let him treat you like that. The fact that he is the owner and is giving you work does not mean he can treat you...

This is where I always buy my fish because I always find it fresh compare to other places where I shopped at time. The last Friday I was there, I bought some fresh peanuts for my husband. When I got home they were all bad, I mean rotten. I returned them and was given my money back with no questions asked. That is the reason of my 5 star. I will advise the store owner to check and remove from their stands perishable items that have been there for a long time. It is not normal to buy food, get home then realize that you have to go back to the store to return an item. We need some inspectors into stores that sells food like this one to make sure they meet the standards. One day I was buying smoked turkey in a well known store and some packages had mold inside. I showed it to the shelving agent. He apologized and took them away. This is not normal! We want to buy...

Glad they updated the front and rearranged the aisles and overall flow inside. The grocery store is your typical Korean grocery store. It has a good selection of produce and cuts of meat but not as much with the high end organic or grass fed beef. All the other essentials, spices, etc. are all very affordable.

The main reason for this review is the catering and restaurant portion of the grocery store. The prices are great and the food is excellent. Pick-up, even during the holidays, is so easy and efficient. The woman in charge has a handle on that entire kitchen and each order. She is extremely nice and just gets things done. I have been picking up for our family for years and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The only small issue is the amount of traffic right in front of the door, but I'm also picking up during the busiest times...
