Update 12/26/23: Circling back regarding this review to appreciate and acknowledge the owner's proactive communication and efforts to rectify the situation. Their prompt response is appreciated, and I've updated the star rating (from 2 to 4 stars) on this review accordingly. However regrettably, due to my experience, as well as the handling of certain aspects when resolving, and misinformation in the owner's google response, I've decided not to revisit the shop. Original Review 12/16/23: Not a great first impression. Lovely selection of diamonds & jewelry, but service and quality of work needs significant improvement.

I live in the neighborhood & went in for a quick watch battery replacement. When my watch was returned it had a large scratch on the bottom where the battery was replaced.

I know 100% the scratch was not there prior as I inspected my watch throughly before handing it over to them. (Photo shows minor scratches on the bottom as the watch is a few years old, but the large scratch was made the man (owner?) that replaced the battery).

This is not acceptable & very disappointed he would not be more careful. Unfortunately I did not see the scratch until after leaving.

Regardless of jewelry brand or cost, all items should be handled with care.

My watch is a danish brand, & to replace the battery through the company itself, would have had to mail to Denmark. Compared to other jewelers in the area, Highland Diamond charges slightly more for a battery replacement ($25), which I was fine with due to convenience of location.

In addition, the man was not the friendliest or most welcoming. As I looked around the shop while waiting, his attitude/tone also reflected in how he spoke to his associate Karen during various moments when she was trying to help straighten up the shop (would think if a customer is present in the shop, one would be more mindful in how they speak to their staff.)

Coming from a family line of entrepreneurs and a business owner myself, you notice everything.

Karen on the other hand provided excellent customer service as I waited for the replacement. Thank you...

Highland Diamond is simply the best in the game!

I live in Texas, so travel to Atlanta to work on a custom engagement ring wasn't possible due to pandemic travel restrictions. Understanding the leap of faith required here, John and his team worked to earn my trust early on by providing stellar service over many initial emails, text messages, and phone calls.

When it came time to choose a diamond, John tapped into his worldwide network of brokers to find a stone in Mumbai, India that met all of my detailed specifications. Once John had the stone in his possession, he sent me pictures, videos, and all necessary documentation just to give me a little extra peace of mind before moving forward with the setting.

The process behind designing the setting itself was hands on and thorough even though we were many hours away from each other. I received 3D renderings of the setting from multiple views and all of my questions were answered with thought and expertise.

A few weeks after the process started, I received the most beautiful engagement ring in the mail. John even text messaged me as the courier was leaving to ensure the ring was received in good order. Then, a few days later, she said yes!

It gives me hope to know that there are good people in this world like John and the team at Highland Diamond. It takes a lot of trust to work on such an important project from so many miles apart, but Highland Diamond made me feel like family each step of the way. This is why they will be my...

My fiancée and I needed to get wedding bands on relatively short notice after deciding to elope after a long engagement. Her engagement ring is about 100 years old and not an especially common style, so finding a band that went with it was a challenge and we were not having any luck despite visiting other jewelers. We had a great experience at Highland Diamond and found a perfect match, and most importantly we felt very well taken care of. Some people may prefer a laid-back sales approach, but we felt that Karen and the team were personally invested in our satisfaction from the moment we walked in and that made it easy to work with them. Despite rising prices due to economic conditions, we feel like we got good value here, and they were very transparent with pricing. Can't control the price of gold but you can control how you treat customers, and they are really top-notch. They also delivered on exactly the timeline promised with plenty of time before we leave for our wedding. Will definitely be back for...
