We recently purchased an entire suite of LG appliances from Home Depot for our new home. I originally wanted to purchase the same appliances from Lowes but a few were out of stock so we decided to go with Home Depot as all items we wanted showed in stock – HUGE MISTAKE!!!!
I opened a credit card to utilize the zero interest option on the purchase. Please note that this was a fairly large purchase totaling almost $7,000 which included a fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. A few days before the scheduled delivery, I received a phone call from LG notifying me that all of a sudden, the dishwasher we ordered wasn’t in stock. Wasn’t in stock? We already purchased the appliances on the credit card and they were scheduled for delivery for over a month. Do you know what you can’t get on a brand new home without appliances – A certificate of Occupancy.
Frantically, we returned the call from LG only to be advised they had no dealings with the delivery so we were advised to call Home Depot. After calling, we figured it would be easier to go directly into the store and speak to someone about switching out the Dishwasher so that the rest of the appliances could be delivered on time as originally scheduled. It was a full three hour ordeal but we were assured the appliances would all arrive as originally scheduled. The only downfall was we had to downgrade the dishwasher to a model that was “in stock” – not as if that means anything at Home Depot.
Fast forward to delivery day. I had a delivery window of 11AM to 3PM. After sitting at the house all day, the delivery shows up at close to 5PM. The downgraded dishwasher was rolled in and the installation team immediately refused to install the dishwasher. Something about a blind corner cabinet in the kitchen. Mind you, we installed it ourselves later and it was very simple so I will never fully understand the policy. But upon refusing to install, the delivery crew just dumped the dishwasher in my dining room and begin to leave. When I inquired about the rest of my appliances, they told me that other three items were not scheduled until the following week.
Long story short, I got a downgraded dishwasher. Home Depot refused to install said dishwasher and scratched my brand new hardwood floors pushing it into the dining room. My appliances all came late anyway so the downgraded dishwasher wasn’t even worth the hassle. Certificate of occupancy was delayed thanks to Home Depot’s incompetence. Forced to reschedule the movers. A lot of the above had fees associated with the changes.
Now comes the fun part. Home Depot offered us $150 for our troubles. 150 big ones for almost $7,000 in purchases. That doesn’t even cover taxes on a single appliance. The customer service has been the worst I have ever endured and I can assure you this credit card is getting cancelled and Home Depot has lost an entire family of...
Read moreI hate leaving negative reviews but this is some constructive criticism that other customers need to have to be informed and Home Depot also needs to have to make imperative corrections to their operation. My husband and I own and operates 2 businesses, under one of which we have a Home Depot pro account and ordered about $30,000 worth of material over the course of 2020. We would have liked for that figure to be larger but this Home Depot is so incredibly unreliable that we split more than half our sourcing with Lowe's throughout the year. We'd order a load of lumber and materials and on the day of pickup, we'd repeatedly have to wait hours to get our items loaded with several employees standing around doing nothing, seemingly waiting for 20% of the staff to do 80% of the work.
Yesterday, we went to pick up an order for lumber and surprise, surprise - it wasn't ready. We were told no one was available to assist though 2 able bodied young men on Home Depot's time stood there doing nothing, watching one young man move orders. My husband waited for almost an hour before deciding to get the items himself but we had clients waiting and deadlines to meet so he only procured what was needed for yesterday's client - about 30% of the lumber - before leaving the rest on the shelf with the understanding from staff, the remaining 70% would be ready for pickup today.
Today, not only was the order not ready but the lumber was all gone - every last piece! These lazy charlatans - YET AGAIN - stood around for a whole day doing nothing and let walk-ins take all that lumber without putting a preexisting obligation they had aside for pickup. They were unapologetic and issued a refund. They didn't even check another store for availability. We had to call our employees and inform them they get to take the day off, inform the clients of a delay and call other stores ourselves to secure the lumber. Meanwhile, Lowe's had it ready and waiting on the pavement when we got there.
Moreover, I walked in on a different mission 2 weeks ago and found a plant I liked - the only remaining one - that was unfortunately broken in several places and partially uprooted. I thought I might like the challenge of trying to revive it so I asked 2 members of staff what discounted considerations could be made. They both vehemently spent the next 5 minutes educating me on how impossible it was as Home Depot can only make money this way and that the vendor would have to make any accommodations I desire.
Ok Home Depot Jonesboro Road, keep that $4 in profit on the plant. We will take our $70,000 worth of annual business elsewhere. Thank you for the lessons. I hope you do better for the rest of the folks still open to...
Read moreArrived to the Home Depot today to purchase closets organizers for a rental property. The store seemed very busy located on Jonesboro Road. To my understanding, this particular store is one of the first five originals in Georgia. My expectations were extremely high as always. I am a Home Depot pro And I shop often in their VIP status. However, this trip was one of the worst Customer Service trips of experienced in Home Depot. They were associates that followed the Home Depot protocol by speaking and asking if we needed help that was a plus there was a lady in the (Flooring) section who asked us if I had to base it just off of her I will give her a five stars just for that. At the gathering items that we need for the closet I went to the checkout and could not find the barcode to scan the product so my wife went to the Back of the store, took pictures to prove that the items that we were purchasing came from the spots that they were in, it was like a $30 difference however after an associate went back, they found that all of the products were in a bad spot. We then turn and ask for a manager to see if they could correct the differences from the prices that we were being charged we spoke with the MOD and we got a lecture on how customers are bad because they go and switch things in the store however we didn’t do that. After a lengthy back-and-forth the MOD at the end of the day just wanted to be right!!!! it was not about the money. It was the principal behind. The whole thing items were wrong and badly placed, and we should not been held accountable to pay $40 more than what was originally anticipated based on the items in the planogram… I will NOT go back to this store even though it’s closer...
