Atlanta | KAWA 18 RAMEN: A Must-Try Ramen Spot Near the Airport

The first time I ate here, the food was absolutely amazing— as you can see in the first picture everything was cooked to perfection. I would’ve given it a solid 10. But when I returned two weeks later, the experience was completely different. The food didn’t look or taste the same at all. Maybe there was a different cook that day, but I don’t like that kind of inconsistency. I expect the same quality every time I go. Oh and they mixed up our pork and chicken. Meaning the chicken broth had pork meat, and the pork broth had chicken meat To make things worse, a woman came in and ordered the same dish I did—I’m certain because I heard her say it. But her plate was packed with way more veggies and meat. She even went behind the counter and made her own food, which makes me wonder if she was a family member or a friend of the staff. Either way I give them a 6 out of 10 give it a try for yourself, you may like it!

I got my food to go. The restaurant is pretty small but does have some seating. I wouldn’t recommend dinning in for a big party or people with a stroller or pretty much any thing that needs some space because it’s pretty tight. There were two cashiers neither of them greeted me or asked if I had questions about the menu. I got the spicy chicken ramen. The ramen was decent it had flavor but wasn’t salty and definitely had a nice spice to it that wasn’t extremely spicy. I was disappointed with the amount of food for $13 dollars for ramen I expected more of pretty much everything. I had about 6 pieces of chicken(the chicken was well seasoned and tasted fried. Also it’s dark meat) in total barely any vegetables besides corn and one egg. It’s definitely your basic ramen. I just really expected something a little more special for the price point for noodles with thighs and vegetables.

I have visited this restaurant about 2-3 times and please Believe me, i do not play on any ethic or race card. me and a friend came to dine here, i walked in the three girls who work there give a low forced greetings, when my friend walked in after parking the car he was more greeted with a big smile and high tone, the last time i visit this restaurant was today i came to pick up a order and was greeted the same by the young women, one wearing a Joey Ramone T Shirt which i doubt she knows who he was, they have real nasty unprofessional attitudes or seams towards certain people oh by the way i'm African American, and treated me this way i'm sure they treat others from my group the same and they are in a large black neighborhood. so they had me waiting for my order for uber eats, had to go to the restroom Bad mistake, it was so dark i could not see a out order sign on door, so i open , the light came on and i almost lost my stomach The toilet was full of feces and toilet paper which some i guess ran over on the floor. so everybody "men" had to used the women's bathroom. i mean it was so nasty , smelling you can smell it out near the counter.i got to Thinking if the food they prepare is clean and good? after waiting the girl with the Joey Ramone T Shirt sit my order on the counter like she didn't want To hand me my order. she went into the back came back out after awhile and handed me my order, i would never be back. And the food was not good, i throw away and went and cook the same food, did i say never be back and spend my hard earn money where i would be...

TLDR: STOP READING AND EAT HERE!

Okay with the TLDR out of the way, I really recommend this spot. My buddy and I were feeling ramen and luckily this spot was close by. It was empty when we came in and the waitress was not very helpful with the menu but my buddy got the pork tonkatsu black ramen I think it's called (?) and I got the shoyu ramen.

BOY LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! The food came out steaming and pretty fast too, but nothing was cold or tasted like it was sitting out or anything so everything was nice and fresh. Normally most ramen spots undercook their ramen but this spot got it right. It was so good my friend ordered extra noodles cuz the broth was so good. While we were eating, we looked behind us and the whole building was PACKED.

There weren't enough seats and people had to take their food to go. I will say there are not a lot of people working so please be patient because it...
